Are these factory C5 wheels?
Re: Are these factory C5 wheels?
Just a thought but the rear bumper honeycomb fills should be black. Have they been sprayed body colour? Could be a sign of cheap repair.
Have you priced up a repair for that seat?
Front lower grill ok? It looks damaged and possible missing ally trim (although could be blacked out). £168 new (I just brought one) but they may be NLA now.
Looks like a blitz boost controller fitted? Might be a sign that it’s been ragged without money being spent on other items to keep the car in tip top condition.
Steering wheels on the wrong side of the car.
Looks like wear on the steering wheel, what’s the mileage, does the general wear of the interior match up to the mileage?
How’s the service history?
To me, from the pictures, it’s not looking like the most loved car out there.

You’ve got a good eye, Chris.
Yeah, my impression also is that it had been unloved.

Must admit she doesn’t look very well loved.
Any photos of the bonnet up showing the engine bay. Current milage ?

Definitely not car that was loved
Current mileage 120000 - matches the wear of the seats and steering

Re: Are these factory C5 wheels?
I’ve seen a few cars recently and one thing that really impressed me with each car I saw was the condition of the interior. All bolsters we’re still very firm, leather was in great shape and I didn’t see one worn steering wheel, some of these cars had 150k in them. The wear in these pictures are not IMO a representation typical to that mileage on these cars.
Honestly it doesn’t look right to me.

Have to agree with this. The interior of mine is in very good condition. It’s 17 years old and is almost as good as new. I guess the solar sunroof must help some bit, a constant supply of fresh air in it when it’s parked up. And being less than 11 stone, there’s no sign of wear on the seats either

Yes. I totally agree with the leather and steering wheel comments.
They are extremely well made and very robust.

Re: Are these factory C5 wheels?
It's not my money but I'd just run away. Was a four spoke steering wheel ever an option?
It isn't what you pay up front but the cost of repair, upkeep and operation and for the RS6, that can be gold plated. Whether you buy a mint low mileage or a rough high mileage car, the cost of the parts are the same. I bought a mint low mileage car and it still cost me half the purchase price to get it on the road. Conceded, I'm fussy and replaced a few things others may not have but even a full suspension (inc front upper arms) and Michelin tyre replacement was pricey and that's with no labour costs.
I've been as lucky as anyone with Audi RS cars and have never had a fault worthy of mention in 7 years (20 years inc my A4 TQS) so it's been cheap motoring but most aren't that lucky. If you pay what that's worth, you'll double your investment at your first service or before and it still won't be worth any more.

Re: Are these factory C5 wheels?
thanks for the comments and advise
i have a b8.5 allroad with the same mileage and perfect leather. If i had the car exposed to the extreme heat of Greece, the interior would pretty much look like this within 2 years.
This is of course not an excuse for the car, just a comment regarding my experience with leather and dash damage in hot counties. We get away with rust but we have the sun to blame.
The specific car has been out in the sun for a long time.I was also a bit surprised when I saw the interior condition, but considering the sun exposure, unfortunately it is what it is.
I am considering the car, but there are several things I still need to check. On the positive side, recent coil over job, transmission, service and new rubber temporarily eliminate some of the possible immediate expenses.

Re: Are these factory C5 wheels?
Yes, about 3 variants of it were.
Re: Are these factory C5 wheels?
The 4 spoke option is awesome. Feel sorry for the 3 spokers.

Re: Are these factory C5 wheels?
Nah, some of us are analogue and the wheel is for steering, not playing. Feel free to feel sorry but I wouldn't swap to a 4 spoke. Why would you want modern car layout and then own a C5? Much better to be totally in that time warp rather than a foot in every camp.
Every bit as hot in Australia as Greece and none of my Audi have sun damage so not inevitable, but a garage / car port does help (a lot). Every bit replaced / serviced is a blessing and maybe as a DD it wouldn't matter, but as a resto the extra cost would be eye watering. Good luck with whatever you choose.
