New owner to the C7! (Snuck my old C5 RS6 in too for forum points)

Post by Piggy22 » Sun May 24, 2020 1:48 pm

Afternoon gang!

So I have been C5 RS6 Owner now for about 4 years now and throughout I've been lurking on this forum for tips/advice and it's been a fountain of knowledge to be fair!

Recently got myself into a position to purchase another RS6. Albeit I always aspired to a V10 C6. But with the motto that you only live once, I decided to take the leap to a C7. And then I convinced myself pretty quickly that I might as well take the leap to a facelift model too because I would of definitely kicked myself if I hadn't. Bread and water for me for a few months for sure, but I have never been so pleased with a new vehicle

I picked her up and took a few days off work to 'self isolate' in west wales. 1000 miles later and no less smiles after the B roads, I returned home. No regrets whatsoever. Foodbanks googled, friends texted for places to stay when the mrs realises she isn't getting a birthday present this year......here I am :jump_clap:

Took my drone and got a few pics. Excuse the final pic of my C5 :biggrin3:

I have just taken out an Audi extended warranty, what are peoples thoughts on this? I paid just over £1100 for 12 months

The car isn't modified in any way, probably just going to get it to MRC for its stage 1 remap and filter but I plan to keep it exactly how it is otherwise

Welcome across to the dark side!! Two years since I made the same journey and have never regretted it once!

Mine is Stage 2 from MRC - eye watering performance!!

Only thing I would comment is that tuning will void most of your Audi warranty (and yes they can tell!) - I waited a year till my warranty expired. That also meant I had really got to grips with it in an un-tuned state, and appreciated the extra performance even more! :boots: :boots:

Enjoy

Dave

PS - and I 'excercise' mine in W Wales too - but not for the last couple of months :redrs4: :redrs4:

Pre facelift or face lift has no difference only in styling

Not quite, matrix LED headlights makes a huge difference.

I looked at the pre facelift and then I went to look at the facelift and personally the difference is huge with regards to the Matrix headlights which are epic imo. They look so good and they transform the night driving compared to other cars ive had/driven

With regards to the tuning, I have spoken to MRC and they have confirmed that it invalidates any warranty so I may pass for now and just enjoy it in its standard form which is by no means a slouch!

You can add matrix on 2014 as well, only need to find spare front and rear lights

I bet they are an absolute fortune as single units. I also would imagine they would need coding of somesort. By the end of it, the best bet would of to have just bought a facelift. Fancy double glazed front windows too :bigblink:

I think retrofitting matrix lights would cost less than buying face lift rs6
