Bluetooth phone issue

Post by sasha320 » Thu May 21, 2020 12:02 am

Hi, is anybody experiencing an issue with their bluetooth phone connection?

I seem to have a fault where the bluetooth connection between my phone and the MMI connects ok but I cannot end a call from the MMI. The MMI then appears to keep the call open even though the device has disconnected.

Both the MMI and the device (iPhone 11 Pro) have the latest firmware / OS / software etc.

I’m wondering whether the bluetooth on either or both devices has been changed recently and therefore started causing this problem?

Does anyone else have this issue?

Hi Sasha320,

Has it worked in the past OR have you got a new phone and it has never worked with it?

IF the latter then it could be that the MMI is too old for the new phone technology....

I had an issue with the AMI with my iPhone8 (playing music) it would momenterily disconnect every few minutes and was well annoying. I tried another cable but the same and then I chatted to a good chap at Audi and he told me that because my car was a 2014 Pre-FL the MMI would only have been tested with phones upto 2014\15. He suggested I try an older phone...

I happened to have an old iPod from around 2013, so I tried this and it worked 100% fine.

It could be the same issue - Unless of course it has worked in the past and then forget all the above!!

OR if not then it would be good to see if anyone else is using an iPhone11 Pro with the same MMI year as yours successfully..

Cheers,
Lig.

Yep, worked perfectly until recently.

If I have a general compatibility issue it will almost certainly be down to iPhone firmware / software updates, as I am certain my RS6 MMI is not auto updating any firmware / software.

Maybe / hopefully the problem will go away with the next iPhone update and / or I can replicate the problem and then set the dealer off on a hunt for a solution...

Every time Apple fix something in iOS, it messes with the Bluetooth stack. This happens across all of my cars.

Check you’re in the latest version of iOS and try again.

But my iPhone 6s works perfectly with my mmi Bluetooth even if iOS receives new updates, maybe like it was said previously that 2014 pre facelift cars has some old software that not capable to handle new iPhones like iPhone 11 Pro

Thanks all.

I’m on the latest IOS - my iPhone auto updates.

My iPhone 11 Pro has worked perfectly for over 6 months.

I guess I’m waiting for the next IOS update that may solve any issues I’m experiencing either by coincidence or because there is a recognised issue that is being worked on for the next IOS release.

Please report later when new iOS fix will be released, would love to hear did it solved a problem
