Post by acs5matt » Fri May 08, 2020 4:59 pm

hi guys and girls,

i know this has been done a few times and i will of course use the search function to find as much info as possible i am tomorrow collecting a 2.7t manual a6 so the easy part is done i've found the doner car.
i would like to speak to anyone uk based that as done this conversion and what adapters and clutch ect was used i found a guy in the usa that makes the kit and seems to have a great reputation but wondered if there was any other options!
anyway i will save the tech talk for later posts just a quick hello i'm matt i'm from bath and i cant wait to get stuck in :biggrin3:

Welcome along

FON

Not sure why folk want a manual C5 RS6? I've been in one, yeah it's faster when big snails put on as well, but it's not the type of car to be a manual imo.

There's plenty of info on here and a few different ways of doing it.
Good luck with the build anyway.
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

Chunky79 is am totally with you. Why would you ? The box is so quick and smooth. If you want to play. You have the paddles option ( or touch option ) imho it’s perfect just the way it is.
But each to his own.
We all have our preferences.

Agreed, auto suits the car well with the tiptronic....however, I can understand why some people would investigate the swap to manual ie. Cadbury's chocolate torque converter. I'm on my third one now and that's showing signs of slipping & overall symptoms of it not being a happy bunny  ...if only the 'box from the C6 would fit, they seem to be way more capable of handling the torque...
