Suspension failure
Suspension failure
Hi I'm a lurker on this forum
Today our 2015 c7.5 RS6 hit a pothole and looks like right hand side suspension failed
Also right hand light stopped working
Heavy grinding noise car couldn't make it up our drive way
I'm from South Africa
Has anyone heard of such a catastrophic failure of this part
I'll have to check up again tomorrow but I didn't notice any warning lights
My father was driving and he just assumed the tyre bust and carried on driving and there's nothing you can do

Re: Suspension failure
The tyre was grinding against the fender
And inside the tyre wall which caused the light to malfunction

The problem is that they have ot get a low loader home for fear of ruining their wheels, suspension and bodywork...

Re: Suspension failure
It's at Audi now and because of it being so low the fender rolled and matrix light packed upsasha320 wrote:The problem is that they have ot get a low loader home for fear of ruining their wheels, suspension and bodywork...
Hopefully they assume responsibility for the air suspension blowing and all subsequent damage due to that
We under plan till 2025 so Audi had it towed via a flat bed free of charge

Re: Suspension failure
I hope Audi see this as a warranty claim, maybe they'll be kind to you because of the Covid situation (i.e., utilisation of cover is low, yet annual premiums have been paid). Maybe in SA they have a different (kinder) perspective on claims.
Typically in the UK though, they'd care more about the size of the pothole that you hit for the suspension to fail like that, than getting you back on the road at no cost to you. (I am aware that as far as your concerned, the pot hole you hit shouldn't have caused the suspension to fail).
As an aside, does anybody think that Audi will extend their warranties etc. to account for Covid? I'm not saying they should, just wondering if they would.

Re: Suspension failure
In South Africa they cover all parts including pads and all services 5years/100000km and and you can extend to a maximum 10years and you can opt to extend milage to a max 300000kms
We extended our years for the equivalent of 2000 pounds and it covers everything except tyres and petrol in normal conditions so I hope in these extra ordinary circumstances they cover us
