I had an M3 with both controller and touchscreen so I could use either in the same car. I used touchscreen when using Google Maps in Apple Car Play at traffic lights, I used the controller in every other scenario.
Forcing drivers to use the touchscreen seems a terrible awful idea.
I must be missing something though because I expect Audi to have done a trial with a focus group and they must have come back saying it was a good idea.

I'm not certain but I think the 2020 cars have a tacho in the HUD, which I think is a very good thing,
Same here, you could use the controller without having to reach across or even write an address.

Don't know about others, but I find myself having to reach over to reach the screen, must have short arms.

I had a B9 with the rotary dial and find the new touchscreen harder to use and consequently more distracting to use on the go. I believe Audi’s thinking was most people will turn to using voice control as this has been considerably improved.

I’m not sure what the changes are but Audi also claim the new RS4 is 17% more efficient than the previous model.

Not talking about the V8.
Software update on FL to do with the gearbox mainly hence the better efficiency.
Can’t remember exactly but info is available. I’ll see if I can find it.

I've just checked on Autotrader, which has:

B9
Fuel consumption (combined): 32.1 mpg
CO₂ emissions 199g/km

B9.5
Fuel consumption (combined): 28.2 mpg
CO₂ emissions 226 g/km

I'll have a look on carmagazine.co.uk now

Just read this, it seems to suggest they're comparing it with the V8

I think it's been poorly written and is subject to interpretation. They start comparing it with the B8 (V8) model. The bit about software remapping I understood as only affecting the gearbox. It reads:

Software remapping of the transmission was introduced in 2020

I can't see any other references to any other software changes. Maybe this alone results in the MPG saving, but I can't see anything in the article which confirms this.

It does also state:

You have to fiddle with the rather inconveniently placed Drive Select buttons on the dash to change the mode - we wish it had a steering wheel toggle like the TT RS.

But I thought the B9.5 now has RS buttons on the steering wheel?

Confused

Just been on the chat with Audi UK regarding brouchures. Their response was:

The facility to download a brochure/PDF for any of the vehicles do not exists any longer and has been removed,

everything has gone electronic, moving forward if you want to check certain options and get a true reflection on price it is all done through Audi configuration.
