2004 Price List

Post by Mɐʇʇ » Fri Jan 24, 2020 12:11 am

Price of mine with options in 2004 was 67720. Seems cheap compared to similar spec today on a new one - almost double that.

I bought my first house when I was 25.
20 years later, I could barely afford to buy that house, now, if I was just starting on the housing ladder........<beep> just seems so expensive these days!

I wish I'd had the foresight to buy property when I was 25. It's expensive playing catch-up when it comes to property.

Shoulda bought when I was 21, TBH - but instead built an Ultima Spyder. That was also during the peak house price rise times - so that delay cost me circa 100K. Ouch.

Lucky guys. The RS6 cost in the order of 100,000 pounds here in 2003. The original price before discounts began at around $230,000 but it appears that a few went for just south of $200,000. It seems we got the top of the range options as standard in the package to justify the price but the difference is still huge. I had TV and phone which have since been removed but otherwise I've got all the top options.

Re houses, no matter who or where, we've all missed a boat or two in retrospect. I can recall a car that I passed up at $4,000 now selling for $1,000,000 and one I owned at $3,000 now selling for $220,000. Of course, I sold that one at a loss back then. And of course houses for $15,000 now selling for $1,000,000 plus. Such is life.

Where is the carbon fibre interior option?

How much extra was a plus model?

Really? Why on earth would anyone spec nutty walnut over standard carbon like the first owner of mine did?? No accounting for taste I suppose :bash:

I'm not a fan of wood, but I'm not really a fan of carbon fibre either. Aluminium followed by piano black are the best trim finishes IMHO. Each to their own.

The real question is, why are there so many cars with the poverty spec 3 spoke steering wheel?!

I agree. Mine is black, black, more black, alcantara & aluminium and I think it really works.
Never ever understood wood as a choice.
