Wonder if the performance edition or equivalent might offer an alternative configuration for the dash inlays? Guessing this could be a while yet but maybe for those that just can’t live with the wood dash it might be worth the wait?!

I think the options will change with every MY change. And once production starts I'd be surprised if dealers didn't offer the option go swap the wood for carbon.

To be honest if you look at the other ranges S6, Q7&8 RS4 they all limit options and force you down certain specs, HUD is only available on vorsprung models, assume someone in UK product management has made these decisions, other markets seem to have more of a range

Can’t imagine driving a car without hud nowadays, it’s so comfortable and makes a lot safety instead of looking at a dashboard

Ordered a car, but not as I want it.

I have written to customer.services@audi.co.uk bemoaning the fact one cannot order a 21” wheel car with Black Pack, one has to order a Carbon Black with £10,000 worth of faux carbon, Hot Wheels 22” rims and a “Grey Styling Pack” if one wants something approaching the standard German configuration of Black Pack, one cannot have a Dynamic Pack Plus (190 mph derestriction), one cannot have the car factory debadged, one cannot order dimming mirrors without spending another £1,350, one cannot have a HUD with anything other than Vorsprung and, above all else, one has to have privacy glass with all UK models.

My dealer’s suggested response is to buy a set of 21” wheels and a set of clear glass from an A6 and that they will first for me prior to delivery, costing who knows what - obviously thousands.

I would encourage others to write to Audi UK asking that we be able to spec our cars as we want them from the usual list, rather than as Audi UK deems us to want them.

We will get the WLTP weight excuse, no doubt, but please let’s have a go.

Done, I've said I'd like the configurator to be compltely open with any option avaible on any model type.

The only way I see that happening is with increased cost....to the punter.

It seems so restrictive - my dealer was recommending the Vorsprung kit, and was indicating that he thought the wood would actually be Carbon, but has promised to speak to Audi to clarify. The overall cost to get my mix of bits is insanely high and i'm also told no discount.....having patiently had my deposit down for months this is not what I was expecting the specification process to be like!

One understands and agrees with your point but where does the faux carbon nonsense come from?

This ^^^ how Audi can prevent to specify a car as you want, it’s just big FAIL for Audi

Yes. However many configurations I try. I just can’t accept the wooden dash on the Vorsprung with non-black wheels.

All specs lead to the Black Carbon with extras. (Sports exhaust, pan roof and drc).

A shame as I want the cognac leather! So stupid.

Well I think Audi must be reading some of this or taking notice of the emails their getting as the dealer configurator has already updated the spec slightly on the Vorsprung model. Thankfully now you can have the Carbon Twill interior trim rather than the wood although saying that they want another £780 for it which is a bit naughty as both the Carbon and wood trim are available on the base model at £780 each.

So anybody already ordering a Vorsprung you can get onto the dealer and add the carbon if you want

I was told nothing off an early C7 so I walked. 12 months later they offered £13k off as an opener.

Clear glass update - based on current C7 spares pricing, my helpful dealer tells me to replace the privacy glass with clear glass pre-delivery would be £1,370 plus c. £750 fitting...I wonder if C8 pricing will be cheaper?

They haven’t offered to store the privacy glass for me in case a subsequent purchaser wants it returned to a “UK Spec car”.
