What to look for in a test drive

Post by gikseiman » Fri Sep 20, 2019 7:15 pm

Hey all,

Deposit is down on a RS6 !! Woot!! Can't wait! :jump:

However, purchase is based on the vehicle driving as it should.

I'm test driving it next week at the dealer.

Car is FL model with 24k on the clock.

Please could you shout out anything I should look for when looking around the vehicle and when test driving.

Thanks!

Two things that would bother me: check ride silky smooth at 70-85 mph (to pick up bent alloys), and check no vibrations on braking (disc/pad issues).

Check that its got a silky smooth ride and gear change in Comfort and a hard\harsh\fast and feisty ride in Dynamic :FIREdevil:

But the all important question.....

It the car Option 1 OR Option 2

Thanks Lig

Haha I went option two as they gave me good trade in and also from Audi so got two years warranty with it also along with things like key, MOT, roadside breakdown etc. !

A little peace of mind. Ideally would have liked one with HUD

Cool. Yeah I really wanted HUD, but then the 'right' car came up without... You can set the digital display to show MPH (between the clocks) and I have it on this setting most of the time and find its a good compromise (I know HUD is used for satnav and stuff, but for me I really wanted it for keeping to the speed limit), and it makes it easy to just glance at the digital speedo!!

I will expect photos posted sometime this week

Hope it all works out, but no reason why not....

Lig.

Just to check, I don't need Audi connect for that do I? Only if I want Google earth or can tether off phone. Haven't quite got to the tech part on MMI yet

You will get the map on the DIS on all facelift cars, but if you want Google maps satellite image then you need Connect. It may be possible to tether from a phone, I didn't think this was possible but read on here that it was possible. I never tried it so cannot say either way with any certainty.
