Wrapped, Remapped and Milly

Post by ShaneyB » Sat Sep 28, 2019 8:38 pm

Hi all,
Do you think I'm bonkers considering a car with the above mods? Looks lush but I'm wary of buying a modded car even though I modded my B7 RS4 and treated it like a princess.
It has a Chiptuning remap to 720bhp (my insurance quote was cheaper for this than a standard PE)??

Any advise welcomed.

Cheers
Shane

There used to be an Audi specialist service garage there, Wonder if that's the same guys? The service centre always looked well kept and tidy if it is them.
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

Great spec but Sepang isn't for me. Would you guys entertain buying a modded car or not? This one currently belongs to a Premier League player and looks stunning but I'm still worried when it has mods. Also never heard of Chiptuning before? I was told yesterday that if it's remapped you can't get gap insurance.

The search continues.

Thanks guys.

Just wrap it whatever colour you want

That car has ceramics, Akra and lovely vossens..

If you don’t like the wheels you Could sell or swap them easy and there’s £3,500 resale in the Akra Image

That's the very top end of my budget so a wrap is a no go. Although I have no idea how much a wrap is or how long they last?? For that matter how long to Ceramics last???

There seems to be a lot of Sepangs on Autotrader that have been there for ages so I guess they're hard to shift?

In my opinion stay away from moded cars, you will never know how previous owner used it, better buy stock car and play with it by yourself)

So, stock cars are never abused then?

Why do you alway seem to make daft statements?

What you got to back stuff like that up ? Names and Numbers ?

I’d reckon a quite a few C7 RS6 are now modded in some way from shitty gay ride, exhausts, to stage 1 and 2

I know loads of lads with tuned RS6/7s, they are all overly looked after and maintained without compromise but used as intended too, I also know lads with stock RS6 who rev the tits out them cold and outside shops and only go to Audi / Indy with they get call or a light on dash

Bore off and shove that shitty milltek up your arse or in the skip but I think even the scrap man wouldn’t take it

It is a weird one as my modded B7 wanted for nothing and generally I think people who spend a lot of money on cars look after their cars unconditionally.

There is always that element of doubt though which is what I'm trying to get over.

The other thing with the one I'm looking at is that the original colour is Daytona and I don't want that. How long can a wrap stay on?

Buying a used car can be a lottery, don't over think it cause you won't enjoy the car when you get it. As you say, you modded yours and always looked after it.
It'll be very rare to find an RS that hasn't been thrashed at some point in its life, that's what it was built for. To think standard cars won't have been thrashed is ridiculous, pretty much like everything Tadass posts.

I wouldn't have an issue buying a remapped car as long as it was mapped by a reputable tuner and maintained accordingly.
