B8 Front Shocks

I've got a late 2015 B8 DRC Limited Edition RS4. Knocking in the front suspension. Audi tell me it is due to the shocks (original) not being sound proofed and need upgrading to those that are? Is this suspect? Also, front discs and pads are shot. Mileage is only 18k, and just out of warranty. Any thoughts.

I'm sure some of mine are knocking, but Audi said that it's normal. But I'm not so sure. No mention of replacing them though!

Low speed knocking noise going over manholes etc is DRC. Audi told me too disks and pads needed done; (at 26k miles) Porsche indy said disks were fine and replaced pads for £80 + fitting

So the knocking over manholes means the DRC has gone? Or is it normal?

Had recurring DRC knocking from the front on mine during ownership. Was in Audi a number of times and recharged. They never really fixed it and the low speed cold knocking (occasional loose golf ball rattling noise best I can describe it) in comfort mode was one of a number of reasons I decided ditch the RS4 and will never have DRC again if I ever move back to Audi. It didn't knock so bad in dynamic but the ride was too harsh to use all the time. There was no obvious leaks to the DRC on my RS4.

Knocking = Low Pressure in the system, which means the front shocks need replacing. There is a TPI out there for it where Audi were supposed to replace the front shocks under warranty if customer reported knocking and was heard on a test drive.

If you search on here, there is plenty of information regarding the DRC issues. With the B7, when Audi acknowledged the problem, they were replacing the front shocks out of warranty. With the B8, since the TPI was published, they have been replacing the front shocks with the uprated ones (as long as the fault fitted the criteria) but whether they are doing the same now to B8's out of warranty, I'm not certain. Mine were done in warranty. Maybe someone on here who has had them replaced recently can clarify?
