Chaps,
As above, I can't recall my cooling fans coming on or being on after shutting the car off so hoping to get a bit of info.
I've run some output tests in VCDS through the HVAC & Engine modules and the fans turn on as expected.
They also come on when I turn the air con on, again, as expected.
I've measured the coolant temp (in VCDS) up to 100c (temp display in cluster stays at 90c) and the fans haven't come on.
Does anybody know at what temp they should come on?
Or anybody able to get the coolant temp readings in VCDS when their fans come on?
Any info. greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Mike

What temp do your cooling fans come on?
Re: What temp do your cooling fans come on?
Mine did this. Take it out an thrash it they will come on mate,
I am looking for a low temp sensor if possible so i can have them come in a little earlier

Re: What temp do your cooling fans come on?
Cheers for this.
Yeah, noticed the smaller one came on yesterday when the coolant went past 100c ish.
Im thinking of knocking something together to increase the fan speed signal that goes into the controller. Should mean it/they come on earlier.
I've got the torque app on my phone that shows a more accurate value than the cluster dial.
I'll just keep an eye on that and flick the air con on to keep the temps down if needed.

If you do it mate let me know. Ill like to keep the temps down little bit more for heat soak reasons

Re: What temp do your cooling fans come on?
Hey, don't want to revive such an old thread but I have this question too.
My fans don't stay on after a long drive at all. I did the Stelvio Pass yesterday, 34ºC ambient temp (ish, got cooler as I climbed but didn't go below 27ºC) and the oil got up to about 115ºC according to the instrument cluster. Got to the top and parked, no fan running at all. I thought if there was ever going to be then it would then.
Interested to hear your thoughts.
Cheers,

I did some passes in Europe this summer and mine too didn't come on. Unless they are coming on and none of us can hear themMapleSyrupJizz wrote: ↑Tue Aug 12, 2025 9:55 pmHey, don't want to revive such an old thread but I have this question too.

Cheers,

Your oil temp seems fine. I was getting 120ºC-130ºC when really pushing on at altitude.
