Split hose on airbox

Hi guys,

I was removing my air filters to give them a bit of a clean and spotted that a hose on the back of the passenger side airboc has a split hose as per the pic below.

Do you know what this hose is for and how easy it is to change?

These always split. I've used some silicone on mine with some clips.

It looks like a piece has broken off it so I don't think silicone will work on it.
