S4 comes with two rear calipers one on vented discs (256x22) and one on solid discs (245x10). Thought all RS4s had larger still vented discs (312x22) on the back, wasn't aware of two types, GMBH do a drilled option for the discs.

A lot of the US guys use the S8 rears.

Audi A4 and above all use PCD 5x112 as far as I'm aware. Those TT thingies are probably 5x100 but they don't count...!

So the rear vented disc ("vented discs (256x22") - how much better are the vented disc's than the solid...?
Can anyone cast a vote(no - not another poll!!) on how they fare..?
I am not happy with the solid units I have, but am not spending grands on it either... so wondering if this upgrade will be a good step, not so expensive..?
What other models had these units/v.discs on it...?

I Still need f/disc - RS4's ..? anyone holding ..? :smile_smoking:
happy dayz .... party ....

HiSpec 335 x 32 disks with Ferodo DS2500 pads in Monster 4-Pot calipers. Cost fitted was around £1200 and no fade on track days. Disks last around 20K miles.

stock brakes here...dont track the car, its just my daily drive, so they are kind of OK ...will probably just put EBC discs n Greenstuff on when they are worn out for fast road use they should be a cheap upgrade.

Big brakes are fine - but can lead you into believing your stopping faster just because they require 1/2 the effort to work......when in fact the weight of the car and the stickiness of the tyres is what you want to sort - lighter weight + sticky rubber etc ....if you can lock the tyres with your brakes and they dont fade then thats pretty sorted to me :) .........saying that the std set-up fades and dosent inspire confidence in a car of this performance......
cheers
