Front brake upgrade to 410mm rotors?
Anyone done this or can pass comment on the increase in braking etc?
I need new front discs and toying with the Brembo kit. Would love ceramics but £5k+ is silly money.
Meant to add - I have 21” wheels

I've been looking at the RB Racing disks on ebay but there seems to be limited info on the Web about them. The RS4 boys tried to start a group buy for them but it didn't go anywhere.
To add confusion when researching, there is an American company of a very similar name so not sure which discs are being talked about in forum threads.

They look very nice though. Think I read in hear that the RB ones were not great but I think that was just a guess rather than from experience.
Re: Front brake upgrade to 410mm rotors?
Don’t MTM offer a front 410 option ?? Or was that for the C6 ?
Re: Front brake upgrade to 410mm rotors?
No affiliation but speak to these chaps. They have a 390mm replacement disc kit for approx £750 which is bell and rotor or upgrade 410mm kit with calipers. Very nice set up which when i visited someone was having a full RS6 kit sent out to them.

These are the ones I mentioned earlier on ebay:

Or they do a 390mm front and 355mm rear set:

Or 410mm with calipers:

Pretty sure they are using brembo rotors...
Anyone know how much extra braking 20mm is worth? Forgotten the calculations.

I think they replicate brembo and AP rotors rather than use genuine ones.

Re: Front brake upgrade to 410mm rotors?
Hi,
Ask anyone bought any of the brake kits from RB yet? Is is what used to be Reyland Motorsport which was in to the Cossies?
I'm almost due new disks so was thinking of going for them

Re: Front brake upgrade to 410mm rotors?
I need new rear pads. My rear discs are over half way worn so probably won't last another set of pads so I am close to buying a set of these all round. Not sure whether to just buy new rear pads for now as don't quite need 4 new discs yet and 1.8k plus new pads is a lot of money.
Re: Front brake upgrade to 410mm rotors?
I can’t find the email now but previously I asked BG Develpiments for a new brake kit - IanH used them when he upgraded his brakes in preparation for his 900BHP conversion and was very happy with the end result, maybe worth dropping them an email.

Try the guys at Vandit: vandit-performance@web.de They do some disc upgrades as well.
Re: Front brake upgrade to 410mm rotors?
I've ordered a set of 410mm front and 355 rears now. Not sure when the fronts will be going though as I think I still have plenty of meat on the front pads still (or could rub them flat and re-use).
I thought about upgrading the rear to a bigger size by buying a set of ceramic rear calipers / brackets and having a custom disc made which would have been 380x30mm. Problem was I'd have to buy the calipers at approx £1k to get the discs made up, then try and find a pad that is the same size as the ceramic pads but for steel discs and I don't really have the time wait so just ordered the 355 rears.

Mike, I think it would be rude to just leave a new set of 410's sat on the side unfitted! Get them fitted, you could always give me your part worn discs if your feeling friendly!
Get some photos posted of the 410's if you do fit please. I have been considering myself. What type did you go for in the 410? Groove? Drilled?

Re: Front brake upgrade to 410mm rotors?
Yes a little rude I know. It wasn't so much that the discs have life left in them, it was cos the pads are fairly new.
I went for the drilled. I know they aren't the best option but they certainly look the best.
