Mike's Panther RS6 Performance thread
Re: Mike's Panther RS6 Performance thread
Thanks.
Maybe a little more noise in the exhaust department. Which may mean a seperate valve controller.
I've just added wider spacers all round.
I've got a front lip spoiler that's been sitting here ages waiting to go on.
And the stereo is really bugging me at the moment. The bass sounds terrible. Think my bass controller might be broken.i tried making a little box for a couple of 6" subs I had sitting around and they sound OK but can't get them sounding right. Might go for a slightly bigger ported box. Having said that, the idea was to make a smaller bass solution for holidays etc when I need max space for suitcases when I sometimes have to ditch my normal box as its too big.

Re: Mike's Panther RS6 Performance thread
The lip spoiler mentioned in the post above has now been fitted. I'll get some photos and post them soon.
Also, found most of the bits that make up a Milltek non res exhaust on ebay and figured I could have a cat back system for a reasonable cost, and as I'm always changing things thought I'd give it a go. Had it fitted today. Its no louder than my modified oem exhaust. On the motorway it sounds exactly the same. At non motorway speeds it sounds but different. A nice sound. Having said that, as it's brand new it may take a while to bed in sounds wise. Just goes to show, that modified oem exhaust is a bargain. I was tempted by a Milltek when I heard one form outside the car but forgot how good mine sounded outside; there really isn't much difference. Certainly not worth £200 versus £1700. I'd say some might prefer the modified oem sound anyway.

Re: Mike's Panther RS6 Performance thread
I also fitted some sweeping dynamic wing mirror indicators. They work really weel but fitted terribly. Huge gaps with the lower wing mirror caps. I'll probably have to take them off and go back to oem.

Get some photos up Mike, we all need to see with our eyes
Cheers

Re: Mike's Panther RS6 Performance thread
I think this one was before new spacers. Defo before lip spoiler.
With new spacers and lip spoiler. That's all I've got at the moment though.

Re: Mike's Panther RS6 Performance thread
Oh and on Thursday night after work I tried to start the car but it was completely dead. Dash warning lights on but nothing else; central locking not working, interior light not working. Checked the battery and it was 4v. Got some jump leads and when power was restored the hazards lights were on. Not sure if I turned them on by accident or some electronic fault caused them go turn on. Been OK since.
Re: Mike's Panther RS6 Performance thread
Looks good, must be a fair sight in the rear view mirror.
Must be a bit of a pain parking in multi stories with the 6’s size and knee high kurbs.
Cheers

Re: Mike's Panther RS6 Performance thread
Yes the 6's big size, combined with wider track and lower body all make multi storeys a pain. Having said that, been ok so far with the raised ride height and front lip spoiler (although I haven't done that many multi-storeys in this configuration).
Re: Mike's Panther RS6 Performance thread
Possibly, as the Audi alarm sounded when I connected the jump leads (but not my aftermarket alarm). However, a couple of regulars told me they saw my car the night before and the hazards were flashing. No mention of the alarm sounding though. I'm surprised I didn't notice the hazards flashing as I locked the car and walked away and even more surprised how they turned on in the first place so I'm wondering if a fault triggered the hazards (such as an alarm fault). I should probably plug my VCDS in tonight and see what faults were triggered.
when I restored power I received a text message from the Tracker company telling me my battery level is low. Yeah, thanks for that.
Re: Mike's Panther RS6 Performance thread
Strange things happen with mine as well. When l park in certain areas central locking 'goes dumb', I.e., does not work at all and have to go primitive..... Everywhere else works perfectly fine.

Re: Mike's Panther RS6 Performance thread
Started fine this evening.
While I was having the exhaust fitted another customer was telling me that you can get lithium portable chargers now. Look quite impressive so I've got myself one now just in case.

Re: Mike's Panther RS6 Performance thread
That's a shame to hear that the dynamic wing mirror indicators don't fit correctly! I would have been interested in fitting these to my RS7 PE.
Where did they come from Mike?

Re: Mike's Panther RS6 Performance thread
Ebay, where else! I dare say there are some others that do fit though. Bit of a gamble. They look well made and work so it's a shame.
