Joined here because I recently bought an RS2 which I have some questions about and will also soon be getting rid of my VW R32 in favor of a 4-door, and the B7 RS4 is the direction I’m leaning towards.
Have already read a lot of threads on that and seems quite a few people have gone from the mk4 R32 to the B7 RS4.. both 6-sp manual, both relatively heavy, both “big-ish” NA engines, both sounds really nice, RS4 seems like the natural progression. My wife and I recently had our first son and the car seat + 2-door (R32) is already getting old..
Here’s some pictures of the RS2 and R32 in the background. I live in Japan and bought both cars here. I bought the RS2 a month ago after watching it for quite a while. The plan is to export to the US, once it turns 25years old in 2019. I haven’t been able to track down the exact manufacture date of the RS2, but once I do I’ll know how long into 2019 I need to wait before registering it. The original service Sticker is still in the door jam, and indicated next service would be May 1995 or 15,000kms, whichever comes first. I take this to mean the car was serviced at least one year prior to that date, meaning Q1 of 1994, which means I can register it Q1 of 2019 in the states. And secrets to check to find the exact manufacture date? Air bags and seatbelts also indicate Q1 of ’94 but nothing definitive on the assembly.

Anyway, look forward to learning more about this car and about the B7 which I will plan to get sometime in 2019 as well.
