OEM Phone Preparation

Post by rs666 » Fri Dec 09, 2005 8:49 pm

My car has the OEM prep in the armrest, generation 1.

But there doesnt seem to be a cradle or cable out of the bottom of the armrest.

I have an old Nokia 6230i that I can use, but does anyone know how I go about getting it connected?

Do I need some bits/cables?

I'll get a photo of the current bracket.....

Wow, never knew anyone actually went with that option!
AFAIK this was not preparation for any phone, but rather for a specific handset that Audi would supply which was fitted in the armrest compartment. I guess you'll need to do some work to get your phone working.

The 'salesman' said it was a gen 1 option and gave me a list of the compatible phones which included the nokia 6230i

I had a cradle for an 6310i installed on series 1 OEM prep. Replaced it with a cradle for 6230i from the dealer which was £100. Was a bit of confusion because some of the dealers said that they only make for 6230 but there is a cradle that will do the 'i'.

Part Number 8D0 051 435 AQ

Good luck
