21" or 22" wheels

Post by LeeRS6 » Mon Sep 24, 2018 10:00 am

I think I'm set on the Vossen VSF2's but when I search for photos on Google for them on RS6's most seem to come up in 22"'s, I must admit I prefer the look as it just looks the right size.,

Looking for opinions and advice for and against 22"s

Have heard ride and handling suffers with 22's which makes sense as the profile will be lower on the tyres.

I think 21s are the perfect size for the C7. Most 22s look over wheeled. I've seen one on 21" VFS2s and it looked great. Means you can keep your current tyres too if they are any good. Very limited choice of tyre in 22.

Hi Mike
Do you think they are both 21s, maybe I need to look at lowering it to fill the arches, I've just got new rubber so is a more sensible option.
With regards to springs on DRC is it better just to go for the adjustable springs as I remember you having issues with the front being too low?

Thanks Mike, I think I need to lower it first with the OEM 21s, is The KW adjustable springs the best route, any installers in Essex?

Depends how low you want to go. H&R 40mms springs are cheaper and lower but later cars (about 2016 onwards) don't seem to sit level. H&R 20mm springs are a bit higher but could suffer from the same issue on later cars. KW cost more but more chance of sitting level and getting exact height you want. KW a bit high for me even on the lowest setting but sits level so that's what I have at the moment.

I think I'll go with the adjustable, my cars 2016 and sits lower on the standard springs so I imagine it will be the same lowered.

Thanks everyone, Chris can you tell me what size spacers you are using as I'm going for the same wheel setup.
