If you enjoy driving - as we all do here I suppose- you understand there is a world of finesse in this clutch pedal, letting you decide exactly how and when to deliver the power to the wheels, just by playing with the slip.
Although it's probably true the latest generations of automatic gearbox would beat the manual equivalent in a 0-60mph contest, an old automatic gearbox like the 5HP24 always feels annoying and 'distant' to me. So yeah, even when driving a 'barge' like the RS6

i prefer to keep the stick!

Totally Agree.
When time comes and my 5HP24 dies, it will be time for a manual swap. Not only the feeling manual car gives, but I will also appreciate the weight reduction the manual swap gives.
5HP24 weighs in at apx 146kg with fluids, so a prob 60kgs lighter DQT diesel box will only be beneficial.
Have spoken to a guy who has put the BCY engine into his B5 and even if he is only using the 3 bolts that lines up between the 01E and the BCY block, and has the car producing apx 880bhp this holds up pretty good in this track car.
So i might skip the adapter plate also.
