True about the residual value but have noticed all the S and RS range are holding good prices throughout the years from the B5 onward

Its all pretty irrelevant given how much they cost to run though!

TBH any car that puts a huge grin on my face is worth every penny I spend on it. Also the running costs aren't that too dissimilar to other high performance motors, SWMBO constantly reminded me that my Mitsubishi Evo, Cosworth's etc costed a fortune every service, any repairs that were required and simple wear/tear maintenance was huge compared to her brand new VW Sharan running costs, I wasn't surprised by any of bills :D

My day of ownership closes nearer ...

Excited for you mate. (high) Running costs are part of owning a 400bhp V8.

Sounds like you are used to paying for the enjoyment of a vehicle like this, so you'll be laughing... All the way to 8,250rpm.

Unless he does pick the S5, then it will be all the way to 7,000 wishing he had another 1,250rpm still to go.
