New owner / Carbon / options question

Post by B-ill » Sun Apr 29, 2018 10:20 am

Hi.

Just put a deposit down on a 2015 car. Wondering if anyone can help me out with a couple of things.

The car is listed as having the carbon exterior pack but it doesn't show on the options Sticker, although i'm not 100% sure i'm looking at the correct list online.

It has carbon mirrors, air intake and rear diffuser, but no carbon on the centre section of the bumper.

Is there an options code list i can decipher them from ?

Thanks

I can't make out the detail from the pics on my phone but the front is not right for carbon pack. It should have carbon blades and splitter, and inset in lower centre grill with Quattro logo. And real carbon pack mirrors are silver unless you upgrade.

On myaudi it shows the car as having Matt aluminium package which I thought could be a mistake.

I guess I need to know that the upgraded carbon parts are OEM.

Where can I find the part numbers?

I would be very surprised if they are. Real ones are mega expensive. The set - without mirrors - was £4500 as an option on 2015 car, and more if bought as parts afterwards. They could be aftermarket or wrapped / dipped.
Are the front blades carbon? If not, has the car had a new front to explain the mismatch?

I’m pretty confident they are not wrapped. I will be checking tomorrow and would let be buying a car with any fisher price parts.

When you say blades what do you mean ?

Here’s the car

The mirrors are not genuine audi ones. My guess would be genuine plastic mirrors covers with a carbon skin.
Looks like a previous owner has changes the matt alu parts for either black or carbon. The rear diffuser looks to be genuine from that photo but hard to tell from that angle.

On a black 15 plate car the only way to get a black grille, black window surrounds and black roof bars was to order the carbon pack. Looks like you have the alu window trims and wrapped roof bars? And the carbon pack would give you the quattro grille which you don't have so it looks like it was changed for a black one at some point or wrapped. And the front splitter looks black too which would be carbon with the carbon pack.

A I said I can not see clearly on my phone. For sure that car does NOT have genuine carbon exterior pack. The blades are the vertical bits at the outer edge of the side air intakes at the front. They should be carbon. As should the splitter. And you should have QUATTRO written across the front bordered in carbon. It appears to be three different exterior finishes / packs depending on which part of the car you are looking at.

The weave on the mirrors isn’t right for OEM, they are either dipped or wrapped.
