Why is everyone so paranoid about insurance. How on earth will they ever find out if you had a smashed window and got it fixed yourself. What people forget it's your car. I've had dinks, small prangs etc over the last 34 years and haven't told my insurance. They haven't hunted me down yet or dragged me in shackles in front of a quango court :bash:

alexrs6plus; I hope hope you're car is fixed, to an as new standard, as I know it hurts when something like this happens

Check your policy as glass claims can cover paint damage repairs too within that repair and not get shown as a policy claim

I've checked my policy and it doesn't say anything about having to let them know.

Thanks everyone. :beerchug:
They are repairing it today so will find out the quality of the finish soon.

Ok just seen that they are using oem windows, the guy showed me the windows and they have the audi logo on them, the guy told me that due to the age of the car they tend to put genuine oem parts.

I think you need to be aware of what you tell insurance. It will only lead to higher policy prices. I renewed recently and was told I had three no fault claims. Two I was happy to accept even though I wasn’t even in the vehicle at the time, however the third was my wife’s car when she was hit by a deer. I wasn’t even in the car at the time just a named driver. When I questioned this I was told it was all down at the same address.
I would only ever inform insurance what I’m legally obliged to
What the f*!k was the dear driving?

It literally landed on the Car. It was a narrow lane with high banks both sides. £8k of repairs 😫😫😫
