Which fast estate?
Which fast estate?
Not posted on here for some time but been a constant browser...now in need of a few opinions to help.
I'm looking to get a fast estate, 2013 onwards up to £36k with up to 50k miles and at the moment I'm looking at B8 RS4, E63, or CLS E63 shooting brake but I'm keen to hear from people who have driven these to get some opinions on which get the heart pumping best.
I know I need to test them myself, but thought I'd reach out to see what some forum members think.....or if there are options I'm not considering that I really should.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Which fast estate?
Out of those I would definitely go for the RS4. It's just so nimble and versatile. The others are OK for a bit of a laugh, but I suspect the RS4 will give better driver satisfaction when pressing on.
Also, MB are for farmers.
/Actually, I'd get a M5 E61. Future classic.

Daytona RS6 C5 Avant. Viper'd, Billies, Waggers, MTM box brain, C6 stoppers, xcarlink, R8 coolant cap (woohoo)
///M3 E46 | XC90 (V8, natch) | Passat GTE | RR Classic V8 flapper

Re: Which fast estate?
^ that’s lovely.
Re: Which fast estate?
nice car-but even with the low miles grossly overpriced
Re: Which fast estate?
i always fancied one but big engine issues and the transmission put me right off
Re: Which fast estate?
Needs a full dealer warranty really due to issues mentioned. I liked the SMG2 in the E46 M3, gave a good shove in the back on gear change.
Re: Which fast estate?
Thanks for your input - certainly the Mrs prefers the RS4 to the others, and ultimately her opinion will be the one that counts!
Re: Which fast estate?
Arun have had the M5 E61 for a least a couple of months - too expensive?
Re: Which fast estate?
Too old for me and that model looks a bit dated these days, despite the legendary powerplant. Plus you'd need a watertight warranty with that.....or at least I would so I could sleep at night. Really wanting 2014 onwards and whatever I buy will be an approved used car I suspect, whether it's MB or Audi. £35k ish budget, so should have a bit of choice.
Re: Which fast estate?
20k more miles than you wanted, but 2014 and £10k cheaper than your budget...
