T1-R on her 1.8T quattro --no hum on the motorways David- very quiet
Cheers, I'll probably try those next then.
SO2 or SO3 before ( can't remember! )and the Toyos are better especially in the wet.
I'd bet good money they were S03's
Far to subjective a discussion - go with what you like / are used to ?
Naa, we enjoy this stuff :-)

ive just gone from pirelli assemitrico pzero (crap) to goodyear F1gsd3 (v.good). managed to get them for £89 each fitted balanced etc if anyone in the northwest wants some.Verdestein are good all round tyres as well, and I get them for good prices (£70 inc fit). Bridgestones re040 are good in the dry, but lethal in the wet. Kumhos are a good budget tyre as well like what kaygee said. You can get a set of 18" alloys with kumhos for £550 delivered.

I have found F1's to be average, I went to them from S03's and found them very middle of the road. My front lock up too easy with F1's.

What about Yokohama Advan. Check out Ebay #8041373212. Then check out tirerack for references.

I have Michelin Pilot sports on mine at the moment but i dont rate them in the wet.
I had both goodyear GSD3s and Toyo T1-r's on previouse car and both were very good although didnt have the car long after i had the Toyos fitted so cant say how they wear.

Michelin Pilot Sports here no issues wear not an issue as i am low mileage user weekend car!,do not like Pirrelli,s as they can bite you, like Conti,s like dunlop SP Sports.

Jim.
(would have been locked up last week if they had caught me (BIG MPH)on our new by-pass last weekend take a recce run between roundabouts about 2 miles, then clear for TAKE OFF!!)not a built up area I might add no housing in the immediate vicinity whatsoever.
