Oh, a Bitcoin thread. Hadn't seen this one.

I mined my first coins in November 2011 on my home PC. Slightly more purposeful mining in 2012/13. Since then only traded back and forth what little I had left after frequent cashing out. 3 BTC to 17 BTC in a year or two going in and out of altcoins.

Imagine how much money I didn't make. People who got rich were the ones who are out of their mind stubborn optimists. A.k.a not me. If I tell someone I made 50K out of thin air with a computer it might sound all right, but with a different frame of mind I'd have bought an island by now. Heck, if I could get back the coins I was in 12 months ago I'd be on the phone with Porsche for an allocation for a bunch of GTx cars.

Even after all that, I'm staying on the sidelines with the cash I have sitting on the exchange at the moment. Holiday periods are never a good time for Bitcoin. Next year, it will either get to 50-70K or we will dwindle down towards 5K. I have no clue. And even after everything I've been through I am still ready to make the same mistake of pessimism to make a few K where I could make a million.
