performance

Post by 10biscuits » Sun Oct 15, 2017 4:59 pm

Haven't been on the forum in a while, advice needed. Getting sucked in to go for c7 Performance, new £98234. Mike Fish if you are about, I think you were an early buyer, any pitfalls. My c7 sprint blue has done 30k miles over 21/2 years, it has been brilliant,no issues at all, they have offered £50k trade in on an original £85k purchase.
What discount should I expect on the Performance ,appreciate it is probably one of the last ones before production stops, can't hang on until
the c8 appears,so that's why I'm looking.
Doodlebug, looked at the Pan turbo but to get the sameish spec on my present c7,you were looking at 135k, and that was 21/2 years ago, that was out of my league,is it worth looking at one now against the £98k?
Some great helpful posters on here,Mike for telling me how to defrost the car and leave the engine running,Doodlebug on how to get on single deck on the Tunnel, which they have to do now if you travel Flexiplus.
My only real tip for c7,run winter tyres all the time, had mine on for 11/2 years and still have 6/7mm left, superb for battling torque steer, not the least wet and icy roads, and of course snow ( not here,in the Alps ).
Any help on the Performance would be much appreciated.

Panamera is a generation on, its superior in every respect, but it’s also a lot more money. Pan Turbo S is a hike in performance over RS6. Pan 4S would be comparable money, I’ve driven one and was pleasantly surprised.

You should be looking at approx 15% discount on the RS6, residuals aren’t great driven by the historic discounting.

I try never to buy the same car twice - and have regretted it when I have and moved it on quickly. The PE will be nigh on identical to your car, and the C7 is old tech now compared to what else is available. If yours has been brilliant - as mine has - why not keep it and wait for the C8? And save yourself a fortune to boot.

In May, I went from Pre FL to Performance as I had no patience in waiting for the C8. Perfectly happy with the upgrade in power and in car tweaks. Planing a trip through Germany next month so will probably appreciate the increase in performance a bit more then. Discount was around 11% which, in comparison to some dealers, was quite good at the time.

I know 3 or 4 people that have gone from pre facelift to Performance and all loved the changed and contrary to the above, there are quite a few changes and a worthy upgrade. If your current C7 is already the facelift version then the differences will be smaller and harder to justify the change.
And yes you are right, I had a very early one, I ordered on the week that books opened and took delivery 8 weeks later. And I've loved every minute of it!

I went from pre FL to PE

Not massive differences but enough to make swap.

I'm very intrested in Panny Turbo....had one in the past and although didn't really gel with it I reckon new gen will and is unreal.

Is there a discernible difference in performance between a non-PE car and PE car?
Volvo XC90
C7 - RS6
C6 - RS6

In my opinion having 50 hp more and 50 torque more means nothing

The non PE has a torque of 700nm on paper and the PE also has 700nm but with an over boost of 750nm. In real life my car hits 774nm when not over boosting so would assume a non PE is similar. But when on overboosting it hit 888nm.

Correct, Audi state 560ps and 700nm but we all know they actually produce more than that. The Performance version is quoted as 700nm and 750nm when overboosting so I am assuming that the 560ps version will also produce about 770nm like mine does when it's is supposed to be producing 700nm.
