Photo needed of front camera

Post by LeeRS6 » Thu Oct 12, 2017 5:23 pm

Could someone please post a couple of close up photos of the front camera under the badge if the grill (if you have one) I am retrofitting front and rear cameras and having trouble with the front one.

Many thanks in advance.

No one got a front camera? really stuck with this as Audi don't even have the camera cover listed on Ekta, I want to know if the camera cover is part of the grill or separate.

Took these the other day but not sure if they are of any use now...

Thank you that is very helpful, can see it is not part of the grill now, I think it is part of the Audi emblem (4), as you can see from the diagram it doesn't show that partImage

Correct, the camera mount is attached to the bottom of the ring holder. I have one at home I think so might be able to take a photo later.

The spare one I have is for pre-facelift which as you can see below comapred to the facelift one on my car, they are clearly different.

Part number for pre-facelift is 4G0 853 391 A

If I had to hazard a guess, based on the position on the facelift one in the parts list, I'd say the facelift one could very well be the 4G0 853 391 C.
Have you had a quote on price? I'm guessing they are not that much but probably special order so won't get money back if you order the wrong one but worth asking as they might not be special order. Or look at Autotrader for the number plate of a facelift car with assistance package (which includes front camera) and go to audi and tell them you want that part for that car.

That’s excellent, I think you are right, I have already ordered 4GO853391B and that didn’t have the mount, I’ll order the C version and hope that is the right one, I’ll post once I have it just in case anyone else’s needs to know.
Tried with my friends FL reg with camera and Audi still couldn’t find out the part no!

Just picked the part up from Southend Audi, they was very helpful considering the Audi system didn’t show the part on the diagram.

At least if anyone else needs one now you know what to order

Did you need to cut any parts off the grill to make it fit?
