Probably needs a brake fluid change at 2 years old. Spark plugs also needed at 2 years / 20k.

I had mine on fixed and took it in for a service at 9k at 9 months. It only needed an oil change but they did a proper service and tried to tell me they did me a favour as next time it'll only need an oil change. And they put it only variable without asking or telling me. Then it said needed an oil change next but 2k later it would need a service! What was the point if that! Some of these guys are useless. There was no point taking it in for an oil change then 2k later booking it again for a service so I just had another proper service. Thanks Audi that really worked out well.

i have seen the thread viewtopic.php?f=76&t=125829&hilit=spark+plugs&start=15
But i cant believe plugs need doing (mine is not a PE) at 15-20k miles per manufacturers recommendation.
However i appreciate us enthusiasts might want to step up the schedule.

When you look to book a service online with audi it asks if you want an interim or major - this differs to their Oil and inspection service terminology. Major shows it includes spark plugs. I fear that there is some confusion caused by this within these service centers??

My car is currently telling me it needs an oil change in 1200 miles and an inspection in 3000, what's all that about?

Very similar to what I had. Bloody confusing. But I think the inspection can be things like brake fluid and not necessarily an actual service.

Ok maybe only the PE needs it at 20k / 2 years. When mine went in last week that's what they said. But after 3 hours they said they didn't have enough spark plugs.

What should I be paying for an initial oil change via the dealer? They’ve quoted £340, whereas my local independent quoted £185 using genuine parts and a VAG brand of oil. (Inc £8.50 for the filter, so the rest is labour and liquid gold)

Well thats an all new low for a dealer, not carrying 8 plugs? Did you tell them they can count to eight without having to take off their socks when ordering spare parts....it must be all those years of doing 5-cyl engines...good grief.

Just quoted £630 for the inspection service.

£200 and a bit for parts the rest labour.

Paid £299 after discount for the oil service. The only real difference is they spend a bit more time ‘inspecting’ the car.

so for a inspection service - pollen filter change and aircon service = £713 plus whatever i have to pay for the loan car insurance.
but to be fair they have now discounted to £598 vat inc so i am quite satisfied with that.

Just as well as im kind of locked into using their group - i used to phone round them all and play them off one another, but now they use a central booking office so that doesnt work any more
