Suspension issues 2006 RS4

Post by ngl241068 » Thu Sep 28, 2017 7:28 pm

Hi Guys

Can anyone recommend a garage in the Kent area to carry out the following works which have been identified by Audi Maidstone:

*Play in o/s steering arm and requires replacing. Will require new arm, two bolts, nut and clamp for rubber boot. May require removal of steering rack and 4 wheel alignment after repair. **Inner bushes on n/s and o/s top suspension arms starting to split. Will require four new suspension arms and further work maybe require if securing bolt is seized in top of suspension strut.

Audi charge £141 plus VAT for labour costs and have quoted almost £1,900 all in. I'm looking for a garage that will use genuine Audi parts, I have the full parts list, but not charge Audi labour prices. There's a place in Newington, near Sittingbourne that specialise in Audi called Mid Kent Technical. Has anyone had any experience of using them. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

lemforder or meyle hd are excellent parts-far better prices than audi
better getting all the arms done at the front at once-sometimes you need to replace lower arms as the taper from upright can stick on the joint
the securing bolt will be seized-no question of that sadly
sorry cant recommend a place as i am in scotland and do mostly all my own repairs anyway
