1M has appreciated in value. Looks great, M3 parts, limited number, 6 cylinder turbo charged, manual, etc, etc

Surprised he'd be tuning it though given the values. M2 fair enough, but surely you'd want to keep a 1M standard.

Got a link Sam?

I miss mine deeply, it was a joy to drive and from a 'drivers' point of view it beats anything I've ever driven hands down, totally sublime.

One thing that no photo or video shows is how aggressive the 1M looks. I'll dig out the pics I took specifically showing how fat the arches were. Such an aggressive looking beast from all angles.

Part of me is glad I was lucky enough to own one, but also a bit gutted that I could have made a lot of money if I'd held on to it.

^ all about the arches! Thanks for the link. I went straight to the Lichfield website and had a look. Great video. I'd love a 1M.

Yes indeed, to both! Image me how some ex CSL owners would feel too. Still, at least they had the opportunity initially.

Both were relative bargains when new. They even had a £10k dealer contribution on the CSL because they couldn't shift them. How times change!

Here you go, as promised... the arches!

I've uploaded quite large pics and the forum has scaled them down so you'll need to click to see them properly...

We've had inflation, exchange rate, and the premium manufacturers just generally charging more for cars since then don't forget

Around 2000 and 2001, some manufacturers were even cutting prices in the UK because around 2000 it had become increasing popular to import a new car yourself

In the 2003 era, the S4 had just been launched for around £36k, the E46 had come out a few years earlier for around £39k, and a 996 had had its price slashed to around £55k a year or two before? The 360 Modena was £100k when it came out in 1999, pretty much exactly the time I turned 17, I remember being obsessed with that car haha!

£55k for a CSL was a fortune (absolutely crazy?!) by comparison, back at a time when the interest rate was not 0.25% and cars were not investments! How times change indeed!!!

Probably because the order books don't open until Jan 2018, with production in March and deliveries in the spring of 2018.

IMO, unless it's a significant change to the M2 in both looks and they way it drives, then it's a big no from me.

OK, so it was announced.
It was NOT in any of the YouTube reviews of the Frankfurt motor show today and left me thinking it had not been announced. Especially when they covered the RWD R8 but no mention of an RS4.
Delivery is Q2 2018, 450hp and weighing 1790kg making it will be slower than the competition. Looks nice though and I bet the virtual cockpit will be great.
I had hoped for 500hp though.
