2004 Audi RS6 C5 Avant, Low mileage. NOW SOLD!!!
2004 Audi RS6 C5 Avant, Low mileage. NOW SOLD!!!
Looking to sell my black RS6 Avant.
Well maintained example with loads of service history and receipts. 12 months MOT.
This car has served me so well over the last year but change of circumstance and job means I can no longer keep it.
Mileage at the moment is 65556 so very low for the year.
Paint work has been well maintained with only a few minor defects (age related). Full black leather interior with piano black inlays and black alcantera roof lining.
Still running the DRC suspension as have no issues with it, car is completely stock apart from Miltek 2.75" vat back system with polished tips.
Looking for £15,000 or nearest offer, may be open to px for a nice S4 B5 in black or nogaro blue with cash my way.

Weekend bump. Still available.
Re: 2004 Audi RS6 C5 Avant, Low mileage
From what I have seen on my searches for a C5 in the last 6 months or so, I would say that with DRC still on the car and no sign of any Gearbox work, you will be very hard pushed to get £15k for it.
I'm not meaning to put anyone off the car, as it does look lovely, but am just offering something from looking myself.
Would also love to see some pics of the interior as I don't think I have seen one with piano black inlays ! Sounds really nice !

I would second Mark-RS as the ticking TImebomb of DRS somewhat puts me off as a prospective buyer, 15k is a little high considering the suspensions...
From every other point it looks like a great car, mroe pics would be helpful too.
Kind regards, & GLWS

Re: 2004 Audi RS6 C5 Avant, Low mileage
There are still cars out then running drc, if it's not leaking it's ok.
Same goes with the gearbox. Some still out there on the original box. Some had more than 1 change!

Re: 2004 Audi RS6 C5 Avant, Low mileage
This is true for sure, i was thinking about this very subject today, it depends what your motivation is, if you want a 100% oe car for an investment, then i think this can be good buy as the completely original ones often fetch higher prices in the end..
Prices of these cars are Subjective, it depends what the sellar thinks its worth.
I still think DRS is a ticking time bomb and on my own car i wouldnt like it, but if its not leaking and it has been serviced regularly then why not? as you say about the gearboxes are also true.
IF he thinks its worth 15... then why not? And someone will come along who thinks its worht about that too..

Re: 2004 Audi RS6 C5 Avant, Low mileage
For those in here saying DRC is a ticking time bomb, have you actually had a c5 with DRC ? If its still got working DRC , the cars been looked after.
As the owner says, it a VERY low mileage car, in stock/original condition , I don't think it's far out on the price for what it is.

Re: 2004 Audi RS6 C5 Avant, Low mileage
Well, I work in the motor trade in the aftermarket so its not like im unfamiliar with the DRC system, I like it, but it is expensive when it goes wrong, well looked after or not, when it goes, its pretty expensive to fix.
Dont be offended by my words, It will go wrong eventually, and i think is a matter of luck combined with constant maintenance "ticking time bomb" yeah i said that and i still hold true to it.. do need to of owned a C5 to know how expensive a shock is when i wanna source one for a customer when they come in with one or on the later b7's? Its great technology, but as with most things, greater complexity comes with greater cost.
Yeah I agree, as i said, i was thinking about my earlier comments, and its in very stock original condition, and as i said "if its not leaking and has been serviced regularly why not?"
I think he has a great car there, and its wonderful that is in such original condition, looks clean, mileage is low, lots of history clearly and original parts, not very fettled... not my cup of tea but retrospectively i think he is gonna get near on his asking price when the right person comes along!

Re: 2004 Audi RS6 C5 Avant, Low mileage
Thank you for all your comments and I understand where some of you are coming from. I've seen recently on pistonheads a blue C5 with cream leather with only 29000 miles sell for £23,995.
Me personally, I like the fact it's still running the DRC, I know it's not without it's problems but as people have said these cars are only going to go up in value and as this car is still completely OEM except the miltek I think it's an investment opportunity for some one as well. This is a very honest and well maintained car with plenty of receipts and service history to back it up.
I'm in no really rush to sell and the way I see it with the prices some people are asking on flea bay for some real high mileage examples that aren't stock I think it's only going to increase the value of genuine stock examples.

Re: 2004 Audi RS6 C5 Avant, Low mileage
DRC can be expensive when it goes wrong, and I may be wrong with my next statement, BUT, most of the time with DRC on a C5 , its the pipe and fitting and NOT the actual piston that's failed. Yea, a new one is £400 plus, but the pipe is less than a £100.
If it had coil overs on, it would loose a little of its originality and given the mileage, the originality is its selling point, giving some one a blank canvas if you like to do with as they choose.
RSIan , EVERYTHING goes wrong eventually, that's undeniable, and the more complex it is, the dearer it will be. In saying that, how much to change all 4 corners to coil overs ?
I've had a shock done on mine, and a feed pipe/joint but those are the only suspension failures its had in the cars 14 years, and mines a daily.

Re: 2004 Audi RS6 C5 Avant, Low mileage
Yeah, i know, 1700 for all 4 to coilovers, that on paper require a lot less maintenance, and i am sure there are cars out there that have had no problems at all & you could see it as swings and roundabouts.
BUT.... I said what i said initially, then reviewed it, im open and honest, and revised what i said, im not going to say im sorry because its still my opinion.
I agree with the seller & yourself that its originality is what sells it, I just said it wants for me and GLWS, I think it will make a fantastic investment for someone and really like that great cars with this kinda mileage have bottomed out and are now creeping back up.
I am not ashamed to say, I adore these cars and the V8 burble, the DRC doesn't do it for me but it will for someone.
Again, GLWS, and i really hope it goes to a loving home and stays OE

Another bump with some more pictures. No longer looking for a swap. Just straight sale.
Re: 2004 Audi RS6 C5 Avant, Low mileage
Lovely looking car mate! I would order a genuine rear RS6 badge for it though, glad to see you ditched the smoked plates too.
