Tasteful mods on a C6?

Post by RS6MAN » Thu Sep 07, 2017 1:27 am

Guys how you all doing.
My first post in this section and dont yet have a c6 rs6 and today have put down a small depo on a f1 m5. But being such an indecisive idiot im still looking at c6 rs6s.
Its just something about them and there drivibility in the winter months that will make it more of a favourable option over a RWD M5.

I really like the look of this and having spoke to the dealer it has independant servicing from an unknown indi since new which is a little ofputting but apart from that the car is immaculate.

What you think?

Also in terms of mods exaust etc which ive recently spent a fortune on for my b7 rs4 at mrc what are the desirable and have to's in terms of mods for the c6.

Will do the wheels in anthracite straight away.
MRC Stage 2/3
TCU Map
Milltek exaust? Or supersprint?
Whats required to get this to 1000+ps and 1000nm torque?

Regarding the silver trims, do people paint them all black or is a better option to wrap them?

Also does this car have any other major issues apart from oil seals. Is suspention a major issue with the c6?

Sorry for the questions guys...
What other mods are best to have done?

Supersprint Exhaust is more money but worth it imo. Quality is night and day compared to Milltek

I painted my silver trim as i wanted it doing once and right,

Coolant pipes, mines had 2 drc dampers replaced.

Best mod, H&R arb's. Transforms them, then exhaust + map. Trups interior LED kit. Pro Tuning front splitter.

I wanted that car, it looks clean. Doesn't have a single Audi Stamp in the book as you say. You will struggle to sell it when the time comes IMO.

Your right, but if i get it and then send to audi for a full service and inspection.
Then send to Mrc for a thorough inspection of all things that leak shouldnt it be ok?
Anyone selling a low millage c6 on here?

Btw guys whatss price on the supersprint exaust? Plus the drc is it as bad as the c5 rs6 and b7 rs4? Surely they updated the drc on this?

The only 2 known problems/design faults of the C6 RS6 that I know of are the oil pump seal and corroded coolant lines in the drivers front wing.

The oil seal can be treated by Forte Seal conditioner if caught soon enough or replaced if too bad, Ive had mine 3 years now and the car now uses bare minimum oil per year with Forte applied every service (2-3mm on the dip stick per year).

The coolant lines can be replaced with original or what I did was have the small one replaced and the longer one cut and repaired with something much more resilient. Cost me about £200-£300 all in, can't remember the actual cost.

as far as I know no known faults/problems with DRC on the C6.

If you want to take that chance then get an Audi MPC before you buy. Remember it has never been to Audi !!! Offer them £25k. They must have heard this so many times by now. Its been on sale at least a month. Also get an Audi warranty just in case. All that will add up to prob £3k anyway. Best of luck, C6 is pretty awesome.

Honestly the trader sounds a bit of an asswipe! I dont think he would entertain 25k but ill offer it anyway.
Whats an audi MpC and how much does that cost?

Yes, that is the impression I got as well. It put me off straight away. Multi Point Check. It is basically the check that main dealers do to work out how much it would cost to bring car up to their used car standards to then sell. I think cost is only Few hundred £.

Well, my car is 9 years old with none of those problems in it's full history. Oil seal and brake lines are the only common(ish) problem I've ever seen discussed on this/other forums.

Of course, with age, it's likely more problems will/may come

One thing I forgot is I "serviced" my front suspension with a Merle kit last year, that's probably a likely expense at the age these are at with their weight/performance.
