Retrofit ISOFIX to C5 RS6

Post by Gazsouthgate » Sun Sep 03, 2017 3:54 pm

Hello team

I wondered if anyone has experience of fitting ISOFIX hooks to the chassis of a C5 RS6 (or indeed A6) and could recommend someone who could do this for me?

I am as useful with my hands as Emile Heskey was with his feet

Did it several years ago - very very straightforward (apart from needing to be a bit of a contortionist if you're fairly tall).
Bolt holes are already there (albeit with tape over them, normally) - you just need to pop the seat base up and then bolt the ISOFIX brackets on with the supplied bolts - 2 bolts per side.

^what he said.
You should have the added bonus of finding some spare change under the bench too. Probably some chocolate wrappers as well. Post a photo, it's tradition.
No matter where you go, there you are.

I found a cheque for a substantial amount of money under mine. Just a shame it wasn't cash

I did this a couple of years ago too. Not the smarties... anyway the only problem was it was a pain to get the bench clipped down proprely again.

Well, if you'd have removed the tube of smarties the bench would have clipped down easier.

Yeh, I've done this too. I told the Mrs that an old RS6 was a perfect family touring car and definately had isofix in it - so had to quickly and quietly fit the isofix brackets.

Fitting them was easy, but as per Mr 79, took a few goes to get the rear bench lined up to clip back down properly.

Hi there, I have the Isofix loops, but has anyone had any luck with an anchor for the top tether, the strap that goes back behind the seats and latches on?
