Was it modded?
Luckily No. it was booked in at MRC. But due to work I had to cancel it. If it had been modded I'd be fooked

Just read the whole thread. Lots of bad day stories. Hope you all get them sorted soon.

I was close to booking in for a remap, not now. Think I'll put the money towards extended warranty.

Any one know the cost of extended warranty?

I don't think mapping would have made any difference to this engine failure. It's just put me on the back foot with the thought of the situation I could be in now if it had been mapped.
Virtually every car I've owned has always been mapped without any problems at all from Integrales through Mitsubishi Evo's and my last two RS6's. It's probably scared me more as I can't really afford the car in the first place 😂😂😂

Well keep us posted please. Will be very interested to hear the diagnosis, and of course what work was carried out to rectify.

The diagnosis has been done see previous posts. What they don't know yet and may never know is why this happened. I'm told the old engine is going back to Audi for closer inspection. Not sure how true that is as I've never known one of these engines fail so badly. Unless others have but not published

Quick question & it may have been asked/answered before, but how old's your car & how come you didn't reject it? Being brutally honest, i'd never in a million years accept a car back that had suffered a total engine failure, as the likelihood of it being a dog & never working correctly would surely be significant.

I bought it just coming up to three years old which would have been March this year. The warranty is the Audi approved used. Trust me I have considered many options over the last two months.
I have to give Audi the opportunity to fix everything which is what they have nearly done. If I continue to get problems once I get the car back that's a bridge I will cross then.

Understood. I didn't realise the age of the vehicle.

Fingers crossed all goes well on Friday & the car's back to how it should be.

Well Friday will just pass car less 😫😫 just popped in to check progress and new engine still sat on the table. Turns out another car has been in over 3months with a misfire problem and the super techs as Audi moon base are dialling into the computer with the tech that should be working on my car.. The owner of the other car has complained to the big cheese at Audi. Hence keeps being taken off mine.
How do I go higher ??? Maybe contact his wife 😂😂😂

Pretty bloody poor service and must be very dissappointing to say the least especially when they told you they were on it. I hope it all works out for you.

What a piss take. They've had it over two months? I'd be asking them for a like-for-like loaner (yes, a C7) or for them to be paying your finance payment / car tax for every month its off the road. Give them the choice, one or the other

The courtesy car is through Audi assist who are a complete waste of time. I gave up asking for a better car after over a dozen calls. TBH Audi finance are no better after numerous calls still no further forward. As for tax it's been on a sorn as it was clearly going to be a long wait.😫😫😫

That's shocking from the dealer! The old engine was pulled from the car last month, then you get a call saying the car will be ready in 2 days, then the next day you find out the engine is still out the car. And this is after 2 months of them having the car, it's sad that I can believe it happening through an Audi stealer. I'd have hit the friggin roof, not that it would have made any difference.
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

Well my last post was the 17th and yes you guessed still no car. I received an email yesterday to say the car is all back together and has been started, a few minor codes which are being cleared then road test Monday. It could be back next week which won't be far short of three months 😫😫😫
