Anyone got a spare TCU?

Post by Frustratedracer » Tue Aug 08, 2017 9:02 pm

Putting the feelers out....
Apart from one more thing i need to try, it looks like my next step is to try another TCU to see if it solves the boost issues i'm having.
Anyone got one they could loan or sell me?
Would another TCU need to be coded?

You'll need one that's been modified for the extra torque if your ECU. No coding required though.

Hmm. Perthshire. Bit far for me to pop over & do a trial switch with mine. Anyone else north of the wall?

It's lovely up here, well worth the trip. You could make a week of it and do the NC500!
If nothing else materialises,I will be at Oulton Park beginning of September and could bring the car down with me if anyone is in that neck of the woods.

Oh, I agree. And it'll probably (sadly, IMVHO) count as going abroad soon enough, too.
I'm still not gonna "pop round" with my TCU....sorry....

OK, my latest effort to solve my problem came to nowt.
Still on the lookout for a spare TCU or someone who is willing to do a quick trial swap.
Willing to travel a reasonable distance.
Anybody?

What about either of the RS6s being broken on ebay?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Breaking-2003 ... 2598111074
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-RS6-2003 ... 3106848886

It might cost you a 1er or so - but then you've got a spare, or, if it's your TCU that's shot, you've got one you can mod & replace it with.

Yeah, maybe find out how much they want for oe.
Was really hoping to try a modified one just to cut down all the variables.
