Yes, Viper did ECU and TCU.
I'll maybe contact him and see what he thinks.
See if i can find the ECU/TCU torque request and log it tonight.

Shopp, just had a trawl through VCDS and the only thing i can see is group 122 which i have done in the log marked torque.
Is the line pressure increased in tiptro, do you know?
Just wondering if it is a valve body issue?

Pressure is constant, I believe. I'll have a look in my VCDS see if I can find it.

Group 9 in the TCU measuring blocks might be interesting, too.

OK, another day; another set of logs.
Thought i would do a log in tiptro to see what the difference is, and it is.... that the TC is closed.
Does this indicate that the TC is my problem i wonder?

Does the MAP sensor have any influence on boost or is it fuelling only?

The RS6 doesn't use a MAP sensor for fuelling.

It still looks like the hesitation is caused by the TCU asking for torque reduction. It would be interesting to see what happens with a different TCU. How far are you from Sweegie? I think he said he had a spare one.

I will try to reproduce the same issue with my MTM TCU. Might be interesting to compare.

Yes, spoke to Rich, he hadn't heard of any fault like this before but suggested i could go back to standard maps and see what happens.
I sent him my logs to look at - waiting on him getting back to me.

Drive along in D, get car up to 40mph in 4th (should be about 1800rpm).
Push throttle down firmly as if you were passing something but not enough to change down to third and keep it there even applying a little more throttle to keep the engine/box under load.

Really sorry to resurrect this old post, but now in lockdown and its an opportunity to bring the old girl out of a 2 year hibernation and attend to this issue.
Either that or start cutting the grass with a pair of nail scissors to kill some time!

I read through it all again and I don't have any other wisdom to offer than to figure out why the TCU is asking for torque reduction. Could be a bad boost pressure sensor or a dodgy N75.
Did you try putting the map back to standard? If it doesn't do it any more than that might suggest something going funny with the torque calculations getting sent to the TCU.

I haven't returned to standard yet, Rich has gone very quiet on me despite a few emails and i thought i would see if anyone had any divine inspiration before finding someone else to return the maps to standard.
