seized pinch bolts on upright+track rod end

Post by rs user » Wed Jul 26, 2017 5:47 pm

replacing my front coilovers today-found my track rod end pinch bolts and upper control arm pinch bolts seized-both sides-they dont look bad but are solid
managed to change the coilovers in any case[bit of messing around] but eventually will have to deal with the stick bolts
whats the best and least destructive method of removing these-drill? laughably last weekend was spent drilling out completely seized anti rattle pins on the brembos...these didnt look bad either but were fused into the calipers

Soak in wd40 for a few days . Mine were the same but I kept turning it then it freed itself . The top arm pinch bolt took an hour of turning

Do not heat it up it will crack it

Its a common problem, quite a few YouTube videos with "how to" guides.
