Can you get a Discount?

Post by jonp » Sun Oct 09, 2005 11:12 am

Hi

Have just faxed 6 dealers with the spec I want for my new B7. Total price with extras is £53,750

It will be interesting to see what discounts they are prepared to give, when pitched against each other. Does any one have any experience of discounts on RS4's? (B7)

For those that know me, its been 18 months without the old RS4, and its about time the BMW Aga is replaced... so I had to buckle under the temptation. I could wait for the Avant, but hey, the saloon is still a magnificant car.. so hopefully if Audi get thier act together, then maybe in March...

Will be interested to see how you get on...

Audi sales are doing better than market average at the mo, but the market as a whole is not exactly on fire, especially for high-price stuff like the RS4.

Autocar ran a recent article stating that the dealers had plenty of slots available for March 2006 and propsective buyers should avoid overpriced cars from speculators.

Well, the faxes went out on Friday evening, and I am surprised that I have not had any calls back from dealers yet, its Monday 1.00pm - clearly they are all making too much money

Audi Uk have stated that there should be no discounts off RS4 pricing (that's from my dealer)

Now, if you do get a discount, you may well have to sign a confidentially clause.

But you could still tell us!!!

P1ss poor you have had no phonecalls, but then again I am not too surprised. I had so much hassle trying to get a demo S4 cab with Bexley (on 3 attempts) I just sacked it off and complained to Audi UK.

Wouldn't p1ss on that place if it was on fire........

Which dealers did you fax? and they all in the Southeast? They are probably the worst lot.

Hi Tom and TT
Tom - I will be doing the next one over 2 years, so you'd better start planning now!

If I can remember the specs...

Technology Kit (Satnav 6 CD Changer)
Suspension kit
Bluetooth
Cool Glove box
Pearl Black colour
Dimming rear mirror
Black interior with piano black trim

I think that's it - if you need to add anything else, happy to do so, you can pay for that bit now!

Hi Jon,

Hopefully they will sink like a stone and I will only have to add a few grand to the private sale price from my(our) RS4.

I must stress we do need the sports seats, surely they are standard though?

Of course, I joke - good luck with the purchase mate...

I am not ordering sports seats, because I do about 50k miles per year, and therefore not that comfortable
19" wheels are standard
Ceramic brakes are not a factory option

Tom you are probably right, the residuals are unlikely to be as good as the old one, as not limited numbers

Its wednesday PM now, and not one dealer has come back with even a phone call about the fax I sent - unbelievable....

...how many of us would not even bother to phone back a customer who wamts to place an order for £50k +

... email to Kevin Rose me thinks

Roughly, very roughly , 50k miles @ £1 per litre and 15mpg works out to need filling up with £50 every six days out of seven on average
