Before I buy one what should I know?
Re: Before I buy one what should I know?
So it's clear there's no such thing as a good value RS6 but I guess that's not what you buy it for! Like I say if your dabbling in cars within the first three years your going to take the biggest hit... The next three years still ain't going to be cheep but not quite the same pain... Everyone values their car for more than it's worth. My previous Audi lost 20k in the first three years. I traded it in for my current car and within a day it was on the lot with 7k on the ticket price. I'm realistic to get what I want from a dealer I'm not likely to get it for even 50k. Like I say just looking for opinions and an insight to the real costs of ownership. Most importantly will I ever be able to afford a second one or is it back to diesel or...... electric!

Re: Before I buy one what should I know?
Unfortunately, this. The dealers percentage margin might be the same as lesser models. However, whereas they might buy a 63 plate A4 for 15k and list for 18k, they might buy the RS6 for 45k and list for 54k. The margin is huge in terms of physical pound notes.RS6chris! wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2017 8:21 pmYou try and trade your car and you will <beep> yourself what you get offered
Doesn't matter it's your pride and joy and been waxed every day etc etc etc
A dealer couldn't care less....an RS6 is and RS6(of course small variables aside)
My arse dropped out when I traded my old 63 plate for my66 plate PE.....
Do everything you can to stack the deck in your favour.

Re: Before I buy one what should I know?
Lots of helpful answers here. I can only go on my experience. I bought a 2014 C7 with 19k on the clock and 2yrs 9months old price when new £94k I paid £56k with full Audi warranty and thank F I did since the car went pop a couple of weeks ago and looking at costing best part of £35k to fix
Re: Before I buy one what should I know?
A PCP deal should give a good idea of what your car will depreciate. I started mine in may on a 64 plate with just over 12k miles on the clock. 4 yr PCP doing 8k miles a year with a guaranteed end value of £28k, I paid £60k for the car. Not bad at all I don't think!
Re: Before I buy one what should I know?
I'm not a regular 'poster' and will probably get some interesting opinions...but my personal view is we don't buy these sort of motors to worry about cost/MPG/residuals. If we did....we would all be buying some nice but 'different' economical motors.
I have always saved....bought new at the best discount I could utilising whatever options to achieve that (car wow etc), and then just been realistic that I probably will loose money.... but be happy with my motor. And then (given my attention span of a goldfish) just faced facts when it's come to trade in value etc
Running costs are ok (early days for me), long term residuals I haven't considered yet.... but so far....it's a bloody good car and I'm enjoying it every time I get in it

Re: Before I buy one what should I know?
As Lem says.....
Don't got into RS6 ownership counting pennies before you even start......I always say "any" job or "mod"on a RS6 is at least £500 quid.
Mind you I ran a V10 RS6....the C7 is night and day running costs For the better...

Subscribed.
Looking at FL RS6 myself. Coming from a Stage1 tuned R35 running 610hp & not sure if i'll be disappointed.

Re: Before I buy one what should I know?
Straight line Performance will be very comparable tbh. But the RS wont feel as sharp handling wise as the GTR but that's obvious given the different markets for these beasts

Re: Before I buy one what should I know?
But the interior is in a different league and doesn't need servicing every other week.
Re: Before I buy one what should I know?
Similar price point, completely different cars.

Re: Before I buy one what should I know?
Why is a GTR always put up against C7 RS6. It's a totally different car. One is a super car eater dressed as a family estate. The other is a Japanese two seater. The other big question is " How many bulk bags can you fit in a GTR ? " answer. NONE

Re: Before I buy one what should I know?
Woah. Only 2-3 hoes?!?!? Nah Rasta. You be feeding your biatches too well. You should only be feeding them every other day. That way 1. they'll keep working to get fed and 2. It'll keep them skinny so when they become useless you can do less trip's to dump them by getting at least 6 in the boot.
