Misfire and running rough

Post by Plumberstu » Fri Jun 30, 2017 8:44 pm

Need help,
My RS4 B7 is poorly she's running quite rough and on idle she's occasionally hunting. She has been on vag-com and she is missing on cylinders 5 and 7. I've just changed the coil packs and spark plugs on both cylinders but unfortunately it's made no difference 😞

Would love some advise on what to check next.

Fuel? Dirty fuel or possible fuel pump issue?
When is this mis-fire? At idle, mid range or high revs?
Are you getting any burnt oil/blue smoke from the exhaust?

The misfire seems to be at idle and mid range haven't seen any blue smoke but there is some I burnt fuel from the exhaust.

You've definitely changed the correct side coilpacks showing the fault?

So I've stripped her down there's is quite a lot of carbon build up. I've also noticed that on top of the valves on cylinder 5 there is puddles of what looks like oil!!?? Also when I removed the injectors there was the same oily liquid around the seat of injectors 5, 6, and 7. Not sure where this could have come from.
The others side of the engine is dry. I've also noticed that the flaps on the nearside side of the inlet manifold the flaps have a lot of play. I'll post some pics and video.
