I agree they get (got) what they deserved (not enough actually, i'd have them both chemically castrated, we don't need anymore of those genes), but I am not sure that they will see it that way. The 'wixer' on your car, 'might' not feel too wronged, but the 'wixer' in the road will surely have a go at you wont he ? I am not sure, you not seeing him is any defence.

I guess your defence would be that you had to move the car because you felt threatened buy the whole mob, who eventually attacked you.

I hope you have heard the end of it, but would not be sure in your position.

What was the dork doing in the road? He was trying to force the car to stop, I'm under the assumption only police can force you to stop your car?

Driving off with one drunk on your bonnet and knocking down another drunk trying to bother you might well be seen as an "excessive reaction", see very recent news:-

Give over, they burst into her house and assaulted her, how can you compare that to this? Ridiculous statement......

Didn't you read the article Mr Hilarious? The point being it was possibly a single punch to the chest that weeks later she died from that killed her and resulted in their incarceration (some on this thread would have preferred castration) more than anything, whereas breaking in to someones house tends to get you a slap on the wrist.

On a lighter note:- to doctor is to castrate, to vet is to examine thoroughly. However, I guess I do way more more castrations than Markp!

I didn't actually, I knew the story from earlier in the day and thought you were comparing the two incidents. I see the quote you are referring to now, point taken :beerchug:

I still would have done what Cook did though, little b*stards shouldn't be jumping on someone's car like that. The road is for cars, not people.

And you can call me Si or Simon, as I am very rarely hilarious.

Glad you and the car came off lightly all things considered. Could have been so much worse - reminds me of the motorbikers mobbing the bloke with his family in a 4x4 in America around 5 years ago

I was at Le Mans for the tenth year in a row. I never drive my car Friday. I stayed in Houx and Houx Annexe many years ago, but now avoid, particularly now its all numbered / allocated pitches. If you cannot get under the tunnel under the Mulsanne by Tertre Rouge, access is a nightmare

Walked back from the Hunaudieres pub over the Houx drift round out and down burn out alley around 430 / 5pm? Spotted they had barriered the burn out alley exit of the roundabout and weren't letting cars drive down. I did think there were surprisingly few people around, and lots of police! So perhaps your incident had recently occurred?

Andy not much of an update suffice to say Audi don't know what caused the failure. The dealer sent all the details to Germany and they came straight back requesting the car be checked for any evidence of mapping??? None found and not mapped by me 👍 Next step to remove and check turbos. I think this could be some time before I get a fixed car.
Can't say I'm feeling the love for the manual A4 Avant tdi courtesy car 😫😫😫

It's impossible to explain. A bit like trying to explain what chocolate tastes like. Or what sex is like. Or what driving at 155 mph on the road feels like. The only way to know is to experience it.

The moment that perhaps sums it up best for me is the yearly pilgrimage down to the Arnage Indianapolis viewing area, around 5am on the Sunday morning, before sunrise at 6am. Cars belting flat out from Mulsanne corner through the forest into the small clearing into the trees, brakes ablaze, 90 left, 90 right, virtually no run off, before monstering off again into the night down to the Porsche curves. Standing at Arnage, the cars are driving directly away from you, so you get the full volume of them going up through the gears down the next straight. Spine tingling

13 min highlights from Eurosport are well worth a watch.
