M2 does look good, I'd let that one slip.

They are great cars. The interior plastics and leather is a bit naff but it's a cracking car. Quite a firm ride, on par with dynamic mode on the RS4 but because of its size feels far more nimble (as you expect).

I've followed this thread with interest and it highlights how difficult it is to replace the RS4. There are faster and sharper cars out there but most of them are a bit of a compromise if you're looking for something to do everything the Audi did.
I almost went down the RS6 route (albeit from a lowly S4!!!) but it was just too big for our needs, I also took a Macan out for a test but i'm not ready for an suv yet (and my older dog couldn't jump into the boot) so I've gone down the 2 car route.
Good luck with your dilemma!

Agreed, although BMW's new M xDrive system could really tempt me from Audi, should it eventually get put into the smaller platforms. The pre-release videos of the forthcoming M5 which has the system fitted look very, very good.

Or it's about time TTS carry on with developing a kit for the B8.

Have you driven an Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio? If not you should. I'm just waiting a call back with their final offer, and I'll probably be ordering today.

Ok, it's rear wheel drive, and they are definitely lacking interior technology wise, but it's more than made up for by the way they drive!

You want a quick 4WD family car that also handles well and is not an Audi?

Only one I can think of, that's not already been mentioned, is the Nissan GTR, have no idea if that's in budget or not though.
Real name: Simon, or Si, don't mind either

I wouldn't have said the gtr is a family car but yes not been mentioned so far.
Alfa is an interesting choice and one I've looked at. Had some quote but there were next to no discount at the time so may wait and see what happens with them once the initial excitement dies down.

I placed my Alfa order this afternoon, assuming the finance goes through ok that is. :)

£7k discount on a 'friends and family' scheme from my local dealer because I've known them for years and my company does work for them.

I did find an offer of 16% discount on a fleet pcp lease scheme, but with that my name wouldn't have been on the Reg Doc which I didn't really want.

For me it came down to waiting until next year for the new RS4, Merc C63S, or the Alfa. I hate BMW's!

The Merc while being very fast, also managed to be boring to drive somehow, it just lacked any character. And that's where the Alfa really wins, it just has something about it that feels special, in a way that Merc (and Audi) just don't.
It'll probably turn out to be an expensive mistake! :D

A true petrol head has to own an Alfa at some point in their career.

I had a Alfa 156gta before the rs4 and have been waiting for years for a replacement. There was never really a hot version of the 159.
