Jonys RS4 Project
Re: Jonys RS4 Project
I appreciate your honesty Mike. I think the wheels are spot on. I tried changing them but now I'm glad I didn't. Once the brakes are on the headlights, centre caps and brakes will really pop I think. Let's wait and see.
Everything is installed behind the seats and I have lost half the boot with the install.

Took me a while to figure where I was looking.. got it now! Don't those amps get hot under there? Those guys at Plush know what they are doing so if they put them there they must be good!
Be nice to see some photos at ride height too but I guess we can wait until the rest of it is done. Guessing the calipers are going to yellow (yes I should be a detective).

I didn't think about the heat. Could be an issue with my listening level. Lol.
I'm still trying to figure ride height. I want to be low but obviously don't want to blow a fender.
Yes, yellow with lambo decals. Lol. We'll see how people feel about that.

Re: Jonys RS4 Project
You can get a good idea by looking at the sort of ride height the static guys go for (although your wheels will probably have a different offset to the OEM wheels most of them use.
They may be class D amps which run much cooler than the old school big heat sink class A / B amps. Besides, you won't damage an amp through heat, they usually have protection circuitry which shuts them down if the get too hot so you just have to wait for them to cool then they will be back.

Cheers for the kind words guys.
So the cars been packed up with the last few bits of the puzzle for MRC to take over tomorrow. Stage 2, launch control, crackle map, stage 2 manifold, back box bypass valves, 380mm ceramic fronts and 356 twin caliper steels going on the rears.
More when it's back towards the end of the week.

Re: Jonys RS4 Project
I wanted those ramics....but was too slow off the mark.
Will be very interested on the results of the stage 2 map, launch control and crackle map.
The interior is looking ace.

Re: Jonys RS4 Project
Sorry mate. There were a few people trying to get their hands on them, not sure who it was but there was someone even trying to offer over the asking price trying to get them. They were an absolute bargain. If it makes you feel any better they are in mint condition. I haven't seen the calipers yet as I've had them painted but the guy doing the work was really surprise and even mentioned it a few times.dougle_turbo wrote: ↑Sun May 14, 2017 10:20 pmI wanted those ramics....but was too slow off the mark.

I know there's another member having his car done with the crackle this week so if he doesn't beat me to it I will upload some videos as there seems to be a bit of interest.... It should be pretty mental with the bypass valves too..
Re: Jonys RS4 Project
Ha I thought you bought those ceramics! Looking forward to the next reveal.
Re: Jonys RS4 Project
It was hard to resist at that price.
