Milltek sound question

Post by jipettersen » Tue May 09, 2017 12:27 pm

Hi
Have the non res Milltek with remap and work great on my 2016 Perf!
One thing is annoying me when driving in Comfort , which i usually do, and rev i above 3000 rpm the valves open and there is a significant noise change.
Someone knows if there is a possibility to lift this limit to lets say 4000 rpm as i dont need this in comfort?
Maybe controlling the valves is a ECU feature?

turbo back or catback?

keen to know your thoughts on how loud the system is in general in dynamic mode

seems no one has the resonated setup that I am thinking of adding.

Catback. Perfect sound in Dyn/ trans in "s". Also in the other "silent" modes except the "small flaw" in conf.

Can you explain what you mean by small flaw in config?

Afaik, the valves are controlled by the ECU. If they can be 'easly' reprogrammed i don't know...
Other sollution is maybe a controle module.
I recently bought the CETE valve controle module.
https://www.active-sound.eu/en/audi/aud ... ve-control
Active Valve Control
You drive an Audi S6 4G / RS6 4G and it’s equipped with an exhaust system including valve control at delivery?
You would like to control the valves individually?
It also bothers you to open the valves every time again if you start the engine?

With our Active Valve Control you can get complete control of the exhaust valves in your Audi S6 4G / RS6 4G.

Functions
The module can be installed fast and easy via Plug&Play and the original state of your car stays retained.

No external buttons are needed. The entire comfortable handling is controlled by already existing buttons/other controls inside the car.

Following functions are available with Audi Drive Select menu:

Audi Drive Select: Comfort Mode
Both exhaust valves are closed (even while cold start)

Audi Drive Select: Auto Mode
Possibility to go to original mode anytime

Audi Drive Select: Dynamic Modus
Both exhaust valves are open permanently

Innovative features

Protection of engine (security function)
Fully loaded car drives with closed exhaust valves can damage your engine. That’s why our module opens valves from revs of about 5,000 RPM in order to protect the engine.

Reversal of valves via original button
You’ll have the possibility to reverse the valves during dynamic as well as comfort mode. That means: You’re driving in comfort mode with closed valves but wish to open them? No problem, just click on the original button twice.

Just to give feedback....
Today installed the CETE valve controle module. Kinda piece of cake, just bit tricky and painfull to install the additionally wiringboom and first time opening the canbus.
But after that, prefect module that works like mentioned about :).
Maybe a little bit expensive for the small box and features, but does the job as intended.
*will normally work perfectly in combination with my r8 gt steeringwheel with dedicated exhaust valve button (reprogrammed as ESP command).
