Bucket Seats for C& RS6

Post by nuwanda » Fri May 12, 2017 7:16 am

Hi all

Has anyone retrofitted bucket seats to the RS6?

Something like this: http://www.imgrum.online/i/BSeB1qAB5YV

Cheers

That guy is saying they are ultra rare. We're never an options as far as I know. I'd say that is a normal rear seat and a set of buckets from another car all retrimmed to look like one set.

They don't do electric versions though. Seems odd having a car that lifts the steering wheel electrically when you get in and out of it and them having to adjust your seat manually. That was o e of the main reasons it put me off. I think they'd look awesome with the blue hexagon stitching in alcantara to match my OEM seats.

They are very tasty - and pricey!

I'm not sure I grasp the concept of buckets in an RS6, not like you'll be traversing corners at warp speed.

We've had this conversation before; the rs6 does go around corners very fast and has a lot of body roll, this is exactly why you need bucket seats. The standard seats are not that great when you are used to having buckets. They might be better than the seats in my mum's fiesta (my mum has neither a fiesta nor a driving licnese but you get the point) but they can be better. And the buckets look so much better than the standard seats.
However, I quite like my memory seats with the electric adjustment and that bar underneath the buckets to make them move seems a bit archaic.

It's all relative, I look at the six as a bit of an old bus in the cornering stakes.

You'll not be going around corner fast that often.

Your mum featured in Fiesta?

I've thought about this but haven't because of the features on the std seats and how new the car is.
I've had buckets or reclining sports seats in other cars and retrimmed occasionally -
Recaro CS sports being my fave

They hold you better
Look better If you have the funds to math the interior leather and stitching

I'd only consider in the RS if I had a load of disposable income and was going to do the whole interior...

Thanks all for the comment and input. Much appreciated.

I am skeptical cause we do not have these as an option so am not sure if retrofitting will be an issue.

Those buckets are indeed pricey and not a must for me but I agree with MikeFish that the standard seats on the 6 aren't good if you are up for some spirited driving, they have a lot of rolls.

I just don't understand why bucket seats were offered on the C6 but not the C7. Hmmmmm.
