Where's our resident quarter mile expert?
:bigwave:

My C7 managed 11.37 completely standard with 575 miles on the clock
Off topic - sorry.
What's your best time fully tuned in the C7 and where at?
10.82 @ 131mph. (2000rpm hold, I couldn't hold it at 3000rpm unfortunately :x ) - This was 2nd to another C7 who managed 10.66 @ 133mph - These were done at Crail raceway in Fife.

MRC have run the quickest Stage 2 times I've seen so far at 10.52 @ SantaPod. (Launching advantage at SP due to being a proper certified track, Crail is an old disused WW2 airfield)

And 60ft times? I'd imagine quite slow with limited launch...

Yes, 1.80 on 2000rpm was my best effort and 2.0 on 3000rpm launches due to crazy amounts of wheelspin.

On a prepped track like SP, quite possible to get down to 1.60 on the 60ft with an increased launch rpm.

MY17 RS6 Performance vs MY17 GTR below..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVz4P63sTNE

Audi have always been conservative, Nissan always optimistic, have never believed their claims of 0-60 in 2.7 for a standard out the showroom car whereas the RS6 can repeatedly do 3.1-3.3 0-60 (From its claimed 0-62 of 3.7-3.9) straight out of the showroom.

My own car (non PE) recorded 3.27secs 0-60 with very little mileage on the clock, only a week from new.. viewtopic.php?f=76&t=116844&p=755765#p755765

O.P, apologies for the divert.

Mine certainly didn't do 0-60 sub 3 secs. My best 60ft was 2.0 at at York. Just managed a 10.7 at 138.
Santapod it's a 10.0/10.1 car

Just wondering how my RS will compare when 730

No launch, so possibly worse as you'll get loads of wheelspin.

At any revs the gtr just spun them up right into 3rd.
Just stamping on the accelerator was a 2.1 60ft! So only marginally worse!
Maybe my tyres weren't in best condition....

In a standard car, launching at 3000 is not an issue, 10 out of 10 attempts will result in a clean getaway.

In a tuned car, I'd say that drops to about 2 out of 10 attempts at 3000rpm hence why if you reduce it to 2000, you're not launching off of boost and you can get a clean getaway perhaps 8 out of 10 times.

The standard car launch is perfect. Audi have it just right; it's just a ballache to do in a tuned car. As we all know, the ZF box doesn't really have a Launch feature the same way a dual clutch will. Still pretty impressive though.

E14STO, doesn't surprise me in a 900hp GTR  I'd say the optimum in a road car has to be around 600hp for perfect day to day drivability. 4wd has its limits too

It's not really launch though is it, you're holding the car on the brake which isn't going to do great things to the gearbox.

If you want launch then you cannot beat a TTS.

Yes that's true. Seem to be pretty bullet proof boxes though. I must have launched mine between 50-75 times in my ownership, on one event, 19 times over an afternoon

I had a TTRS a few years back and used to attend drag racing events frequently, kept all my time slips and when I added up just the 1/4m runs from drag day events over the 2yrs, I had 205 launches on the box. That's not taking into consideration how much on road stuff I done testing 60/100 between standard and stages of tunes etc. There must have been over 300 launches on it when I got rid of it and it never missed a beat for me.

Good old German engineering. I'm sure the ZF boxes can take it too (over the short term anyway) Wouldn't fancy buying a 5yr old+ car that had been abused like that.

And yes the TTS is king, always has been, it's just a perfect setup. Engine over the rears, pdk, turbo and relatively lightweight in comparison to its competitors.

Leo - GTR is, I think, at least 80% rwd on a launch if you believe the computer systems on the dash.
RS isn't going to be far away tbh - so plenty quick enough...

Well, I was a little worried I would miss the "kick" of the RS6. Well, I dont. Its fantastic. The demo I had was in the normal 4S, which I felt was very high revving and didnt have much "meat", but I fell in love with the interior, so took the risk of ordering the turbo without trying one. The car is brilliant, lovely and relaxing when you want it to be, but also quick. You can drive it hard in a relaxed manor without realising what speed your doing a bit like the Audi, but its even more so.
I tried the launch control...OMG, it flies.
I think I made the right choice, I dont think I will miss the Audi as much as I thought. The only slight doubt I have....perhaps I should have gone for grey, not 100% sure about the colour yet.

Nice. You'll enjoy it.

It is a lot of blue, but I think it looks good.
