Clear Indicators for my first RS2
Hoping to pick up a Polar SilverRS2 tomorrow (very exciting), 16.5k! - however history and condition have won me over. I was wondering if you can buy clear side/and rear indicators - or perhaps this is not the done thing?
Re: Clear Indicators for my first RS2
Side ones yes, they look way better clear than orange (IMHO) go to any Halfords store that has a ripspeed section in it and pay around £14 for a set of hella ones. Don't be tempted by the cheapy ones on fleabay, they are rubbish.markpendred71 wrote:Hoping to pick up a Polar SilverRS2 tomorrow (very exciting), 16.5k! - however history and condition have won me over. Rear?? NOOOO don't even think it mate, RS2 is all about being subtle, not making it look like a saxo

One of the first things I did with mine. Subtle update. Messing with the rear would be a crime. Got mine from a porsche specialist. Just have a look online.
By the way welcome. I paid similar money 18 months ago ? what mileage

Just got back and please shoot me for even thinking of even changing the rear - still under decided about the sides - she's beautiful and yes I probably paid a little over the odds, but I wanted one in the silver and I really wanted straight history. 101K It was from Just Sports in Oldham (on the website and autotrader) and they were brilliant to deal with - have even offered a return policy if not totally satisfied, so I couldn't ask for more. However after the drive back to London, she's for keeps. I am going to change the tyres though. Currently Continental contisports 245, 40, 17 which, reading up on this site is not the size to go for. Probably going to choose the MICHELIN - PILOT SPORT 2 225 45 17 unless anyone swears by another? - Looking for an all rounder, but strong in the wet - welcome any suggestions. Finally delighted to be amoungst a very lucky group of car owners

I'm using Goodyear Eagle F1's GS-D3's 225 45 R17 91Y BSW and I'm very happy with them. Very good handling in the wet and imediatley noticed better handling from the previous set of perrili p-zero's. They are also fairly well priced, £81.30 inc VAT & P&P from www.mytyres.co.ukmarkpendred71 wrote: Probably going to choose the MICHELIN - PILOT SPORT 2 225 45 17 unless anyone swears by another? - Looking for an all rounder, but strong in the wet - welcome any suggestions.
Having said that I found with very heavy use, after an hour of playing around with understreer and going sideways at high speed on a rough surfaced airfield, I did need to get a new set of front tyres as it took fairly large chunks out of the tyres. See here:

Thanks for that Angus - was a little concerned about the tyre wear! - However checking out the link, the Goodyears came out top with a stronger wear rating than the Michelin's. I've been give a quote of £450 for an on the car price for the Michelins but I'll see what they offer on the Eagle F1s.
RE: Re: RE: Re: Clear Indicators for my first RS2
I would avoid eagle F1 on the heavy avant myself. Not the strongest of sidewalls. Contisports are OK, funny mine came with the same make wrong size !
I have SO3 at present fine, no complaints. May well return to pirelli nero next time. The car will handle much better when you switch size.
Good to hear prices are firm for decent examples mine had 79k at purchase 18/12 ago.
Check through the threads here for things to check/sort if no evidence being done recently e.g DV plugs oil filters including fuel IMHO.

Mark,
I've seen the silver RS2 at JustSports go back up on autotrader - did you take them up on their returns policy or something? What was wrong with it? you seemed really keen at the start of the month!!
