New Speeding laws as of 24 April

Ouch!! Looks like the UK is trying to compete with Switzerland with draconian speeding penalties. Seriously harsh and a 'catch all' against the idiots that drive like lunatics in the wrong places (Traffic Police friend of mine stated it perfectly once: 'it's not speed that kills it's the incorrect use of speed') such as built up areas.

The "fine" was never supposed to be the deterrent as it only covered the Admin. It was the points you get which made everyone "equal" regardless of wealth. As people will "always" speed (it's human nature) it's now just a proven money-grab which means I have lost any respect for the people who say otherwise.
