I have never lowered one of my cars. I like the look, but what does lowering and/or widening do for the way the car drives/road holding/performance etc.?

For both my RS4 and RS6 I only notIced positive changes to the car once they were aligned properly. Both ride the same but had better turn in and felt more planted.

If you keep it sensible it should benefit handling shouldn't it?
At least keep it flatter (although that's more to do with ARBs)
I would like to think it would at worst be marginal. It am expecting it to be a bit more sure footed..

Yes

Said with tongue in cheek

Certainly no worse than OEM in my experience.

Yes if you want it flatter then you will need to go for aftermarket ARBs. But I was being told yesterday by someone who has these fitted that there are downsides to it.

I don't think I'd ever go to those lengths where I'm having the arbs on etc.
Been there on previous cars and the RS is never going to handle well enough in my mind where I'd use it in that way to warrant all that handling stuff.

If DRC goes post warranty then yes I'd look at aftermarket coilovers etc. But not unless there was a need to.

It's a family bus at the end of the day with some straight line grunt. 😜

On my C6, the ARB's had a much bigger effect than lowering. No downsides to lowering with a spring kit

The positives

Much more direct steering,
Massive reduction in body roll

The negatives

Much stiffer, trim creaks
Ride quality is reduced
